I locked the old bug reports thread as it got a bit long. If you encounter any errors or bugs on the site, feel free to post them here and I'll take a look at them :) Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is considered a "bug report" or not, but could you kindly stop being racist against those of us with Irish/Scottish patronymic surnames? I see that you have found a way to integrate all those really cool (presumably) Scandinavian "o's" into people's profile names, but every friggin' "McCormack", "McGee", and "McAuley", are spelled "Mccormack", "Mcgee", and "Mcauley". This is obviously unacceptable. I mean, my biggest fear is that if Connor McGregor... or, excuse me... Mcgregor, were to get wind of this atrocity then he'd definitely sucker punch you in a bar. I mean, what if you were walking down the street and had a hankering for some of the world's most addictive GMO french fries, and to your surprise you find out that the script on that iconic sign of your favorite global beacon of Western Progress and Celtic immigrant upward mobility reads "Mcdonald's"? WTF? I know, just like me, you would want some answers.

So, why not just try and avoid this obvious atrocity from the start and let us write our last names correctly? My ancestors didn't escape the potato famine, have way too many kids in poverty and die in their 30's building railroads for millionaires only to have their family name looking all janky on beltchecker.com. I must warn you that I'm in talks with Sarah McLachlan... er... Mclachlan as we speak about once again resurrecting "In the Arms of an Angel" to use in an infomercial highlighting our collective struggles. ;).

I dont think it's racist but maybe more ignorant or uneducated. I think you may be overreacting for something so small as that. There are other problems in life that can be way worse than this but your right in that you should be able to have your last name spelled correctly. I did notice that the guy does tend to be a bit of a ..smart alik at times so...yeah, maybe he should smarten up a little..

Haha yeah ok I get your point. The issue is that people write their names in all sorts of upper and lower case letters, so I have to fix them on input. My OCD can't stand if it's not uniform all over the site, like "JOHN SMITH", "john smith", "john SMITH", "John smith" etc.

I can fix the McSomething names manually though, will take care of yours now

All good, man. I have the same OCD issues when I see Mcsomethings and not McSomethings. I fucking love this site, btw.

My bad, man. I should have prefaced this by saying that I had a little extra time on my hands this morning for some good-natured trolling. I meant no harm :).

I was so close to being verified, 370/400 points needed, and i realized that when i put my belt history and information in, i never updated my white and blue belt with stripes, obvsiously i would need to be a 4 stripe white belt to get promoted to Blue, and then a 4 stripe blue belt to purple, so i updated and added my stripes, and it seems i lost the majority of my verification points.

You must have changed something else as well, it only requests re-verification if you add/remove belts or change date/promoter fields.

When i set up the belt history, i had just put basic, white, blue, purple (which i am now) Then i realized i could add stripes, so I added the stripes for White and Blue belts. As i had progressed through those ranks, i saw it more as an update rather than a change. I guess the system saw it as a belt change, since i added stripes to previous belts. But i had verification points this morning before i added the stripes to white and blue (again, previous belts) I had verification of my current belt, 0 stripe purple.

Stripes on non-black belts does not trigger re-verification, it's impossible, I promise (and just double checked the code) :) Maybe you changed something else without thinking about it. It would be strange if you're the first one of 6900 users to report that bug, but it's noted and I'll take it up if other people experience the same. Thanks! :)

Hey , wanted to upload a picture for my belt promotion as a blue belt. After i saved my votes were lost and my verification was lost also....
You must have added/removed a belt or changed promotion date or promoter name. That’s the only way it can trigger revérification of points.

Yes I'm just moving some of the data to a CDN (content delivery network) to speed up the website, and I need to register a new security certificate. Should be all fixed today :)

Should slowly start working again globally, already works here but it might take some time to be updated on all domain servers around the world :)

Maybe not a bug, but a feature. I accidentally pressed a ThumbsUp icon on my own forum post to see the name of those that had given one already. Didn't see the list at the end there before I clicked. Anyway, I ended up getting a notification for each of my 3 own clicks, flooding (maybe more moistening) my notification log.

Yeah I need to bundle those reaction notifications, it's on my list :)

Hey,
Just changed my Professor on my promotion history.
Basically, I had him listed as "Dave Rosenmarkle" then he created his profile as "David Rosenmarkle"... No one calls him David.... anyways...
Now all of my votes need to be re veriified...
Should a change as simple as that require all votes to be redone?

Yes, any change of your promotion history should trigger your voters to reconfirm their vote (they'll be notified). You changed promotion history from a non-profile to a profile linked promoter? That definitely needs to be confirmed. The system can't differentiate between Dave->David and Dave->Hulk Hogan.

Any changes must be checked, so nobody can keep verification votes on incorrect/fake profiles :)

(for the record, the way he spells his name is irrelevant to this case, as you changed your promotion from not linking to a profile, to linking to a profile :))

yes, you are correct. That is exactly what happened.
When I created my profile he did not have one.
