My little fun project for an evening after a good training. Administrators can hide it on the profiles if they feel like it :)

I just updated this to only include data from verified profiles since the data is too unreliable if people haven't filled out their complete promotion history and done it properly :)

Cool! But when taking a look at the registered gyms with most verified members, we boringly see their stats follow the world average very closely. :D

Also, this is not entirely truthful, as I reckon it only counts where you are at the moment, not where you have actually earned your belts (a lot of people move/change gyms). Still: cool!

When I was first training in the early nineties, it was common to have access to train 3 times a week in Jiu-Jitsu, sometimes twice a day,

and to spend the other days training boxing, muay thai, or Judo.

There was no Youtube, very few instructionals.

Now, people train 5 to 7 days a week, often two a days,

and there is youtube,

plus many fine instructional DVDs from outstanding players.

In my day, a new technique cost you a plane ticket and time for travel.

So maybe things change.

For the record, I love youtube and FB videos,

and i love DVD from world champions or weirdos practicing Weird Do.

So, maybe things change.

God stays in heaven,

But technology and his angels or his demons

change all of our gardens.

And I welcome this, as I embrace all benevolent chaos.

Is good.

Otherwise the Red Queen just falls further and further behind,

as do we all.

Just ask Alice, when she is ten feet tall.
