Name is Morgan- been training for about 8 years. Been under various different black belts. I currently own and operate a small 24 gym / Martial art studio in Flagstaff Arizona (USA) - Insurgent Fitness. I am currently Affiliated with and under Jay Pages Jiu Jitsu.
I am the main BJJ instructor here at Insurgent Fitness with approximately 30+ students. I started BJJ because my wife wanted to learn self defense, though she no longer trains, I have never stopped training since that first day in the garage. I strive to distance my self from the political BS that currently plagues BJJ, and have been a proud member of the BJJ Globetrotters for a few years now.
Jay Pages has been the best thing to ever happen to my BJJ experience and growth. He is an amazing instructor, and friend.
I love BJJ belt Checker- I log in at least once every day. I beltchecker.com has been one of the best things to happen for BJJ.
Love the community, love the people!

Hey everybody !
My name is Jeremy, I've been starting BJJ in 2016 thanks to Fabien Tschirhart who was a work colleague at the time.
In addition to his club, he was giving lessons on a voluntary basis in a sports association accessible to employees of our company and suggested me to come and try BJJ as I was doing some MMA at the time and I liked the ground part. There was only one time slot per week, Tuesday at lunch break.
The first few times were quite difficult, I could not even hold 3 randoris of 3 minutes, I did not know how to breathe, move, survive ...
During the first year, I even skipped some classes and it was a little hard to motivate myself to go, but I held on until the passion took hold of me.
The next year I focused a lot on BJJ, trying not to miss the only class I could have per week and I even started going on "unofficial class" on Friday with Fabien who was usually going alone for physical training.
Quickly that wasn't enough for me and I started to find a club not far from where I live. Here I met the Team Shadow with Azzedine and Mohamed Taj.
The training room is not very big at Team Shadow and they usually turned off the air conditioning to harden the training conditions.
It was hard but everyone is so nice and caring that it helps to pass the difficult moments.
I had the honor to participate to a special class taught by Cicero Costha in winter 2018 and then had a small decrease in motivation after christmas.
For 4-5 months, I was only going to Fabien's classes and I stopped going to Team Shadow, until a mate contacted me for news and told me to come back, which I did!
Since that time I have never stopped and I do between 3 and 5 workouts per week (only at Team Shadow since life events have prevented us from fully continuing the associative activity with Fabien T_T).
I received my blue belt during the october 2019 special class with Cicero.
I'm glad to be a member of the BJJ community and member of BeltChecker.com ;)
Thanks for reading my journey, sorry if i told too much about my life :p
Hope to see you on the mat ! ;) Osss

Nice to meet you Jeremy ! Thank you for the credit =)
Hello everyone !
I am Fabien, the "one" Jeremy referred in his introduction message ! And it is a pure coincidence that I am posting next to him.
I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2004 at Gracie Barra, in France, with Aziz Cherigui being my very first professor ; two years later I moved to Grapplisses, where Luc Farrando became my professor. I received every belt from his hands, including my black belt in 2013.
as Jeremy stated in his post, I've been teaching BJJ in a University sport club on a voluntary basis, but also in my main academy which is now known as Grapplisses MK Team as we are affiliated to Olivier Michailesco MK Team, a major french BJJ Academy.
Am not so much of a competitor and mostly practice for leisure and pleasure ; I love burpees and my favorite color is ... ok, maybe I should hand over now.

Hello Everyone! Frank Ruiz here giving a Black Belt Intro.
I began training in 2003 with Tinguinha. During my 15 years of training in the colored belts, I accomplished many things. I got married, had 3 kids, graduated from undergrad, then law school. In the summer of 2019, I was awarded my black belt from Professor Tinguinha and Professor Luis "Speedy" Gonzales. I know train in the Central Valley with Professor Josh Bowling at Resilience BJJ in Visalia.
I have been a black belt for 1 year this month and have learned many things during that time. I look forward to many more years of competition and super fights. I have a few match videos on my profile with some photos. Feel free to take a look and help move my verification forward.
thank you guys!

Hi all, love the idea of a community consensus system such as this and I'm excited to be using it now as well!
I have been doing BJJ for over 10 years, I have been training since 2009 but first started my journey in jiujitsu in 2005 for 9 months before i had a gap of 4 years where my work and finishing university were a priority. Starting full time work I realised that being sedentary all day was wrecking my health and body and I missed doing something beneficial that stimulated my mind and body at the same time as increasing my fitness.
I love jiujitsu and am looking forward to doing it as long as I can and sharing the joy and passion I have for jiujitsu with others and also when I have chances to teach.
I did compete a little at blue and wanted to compete a lot at purple, but suffered a bad leg entanglement and fell in the first 3 minutes of my first match as a purple belt leading to my right foot being twisted 180 degrees around as a high ankle dislocation (do not do this :p). After surgery, recovery, and support from friends and family I was back into training as soon as I could and taking it easy. Since then, I still appreciate competition but the drive to compete has waned compared the drive to just have some excellent rolls against talented people at open mats :).
Would be great if others can look at my profile and vote should you feel it appropriate!
I'll continue to share the idea of BeltChecker.com with others to spread the word!
Thanks again!

hello all!
My name is Colin and I hail from Austin! I've been training BJJ since 2015. I also wrestled for 10 years competitively! I love grappling of all kinds! I love watching it and doing it! I am definitely a student of the sport and I watch videos or read publications about grappling pretty much every day.
I have been training under Mario Esfiha in north Austin the whole time I've been practicing BJJ. He is a great instructor and a great friend!
I don't compete in BJJ since I had a spinal fusion surgery. I feel lucky just to be on the mats to practice and roll at all. It was a difficult journey, but I can't give up on grappling. I just love it too much.
Please check out my profile and vote!
thanks,
Colin
