Reaping should be allowed for brown/black belts also in the gi. Heelhooks, no.

They would effectively kill the 50/50 stalling game tho, which would be great. :D

I think the sweep rules implemented for 50/50
specifically actually changed it's place in meta relatively well.

Ha - this most definitely kills any aspirations I might have had to compete again completely dead. I'm not allowing crazy people anywhere near my knees. :P

But in all seriousness, it's a move in the right direction. I've been terrified of leglocks (both giving and receiving) forever, so the less taboo they become, the better for younger grapplers to avoid ending up like me. Which I think has already largely happened, given how prominent leglocks have become over the last few years (particularly in stuff like Polaris etc).

I would prefer if IBJJF comps took that ADCC mindset of "no points, no advantages" in the first half of every match, but that's another topic for another time. In regards heel hooks, LOVE It in no gi comps, about time there..... and I'll even split the difference and say that it's ok to keep it out of gi comp (for now). In my opinion, the reason guys get injured in leg lock battles is that they don't tap when they're caught.... I'm not talking about the point where they can battle/defend.... But that point where they are CAUGHT, and don't tap because of ego (can't tell you the amount of times while running a tournament, I saw guys get injured, and I asked why they didn't tap, and I got the "I ain't no bitch" answer). It's also why some of the top Brazilian competitors don't want it, because they won't tap, only want to win via advantage, and can't make excuses while someone rolls them up (see Lachlan Giles dusting up those Brazilians in ADCC last year, and their confusion in the leg lock game).

Anyways, bravo for progress here
