What are your jiu-jitsu-related 2021 New Year's resolutions? Mine are: (1) Figure out how to escape side control (2) Master worm guard (3) Don't get promoted to blue belt What are yours?
My goal is to medal at least 10 more times at tournaments. My goal has been to get 50 medals before I get my black belt. I'm currently at 40.

That's impressive and ambitious!
I have an anxiety disorder, not sure I'll ever compete. I'm warming up to the idea.

4. Really focus on leg locks

For me: 1. Get a consistent purple-belt level guard - this is the biggest hole in my game. Most other purple belts I've met have insane guards. 2. Attack submissions more. I am good at passing, getting to mount, controlling dominant positions. But I am too hesitant to go for subs.
If it helps, my guard is still shit and I'm a brown belt. ;)

I have no new year resolutions....I simply want to train again with my BJJ Training partners as we are under lockdown since mid October 2020 and the only bjj Training I was able to do in that time was drilling with the dummy or playing a little basic jiu jitsu with the kids and wife.

Same here. Guards are overrated anyway. Modern jiu-jitsu is all about hanging in d'arce chokes and framing inside side control. At least that's what I try to tell myself.
