To our Israeli BJJ friends, how legit is Krav Maga?

Hi people,
There are quite a few instructors teaching Krav Maga outside of Israel, and to be honest, most of the stuff I see on the YT-machine looks like unrealistic nonsense.
I was wondering what the BJJ fanatics in Israel think of Krav as a system of self defense / martial art?
I do realize there might be a huuuuuuge difference in skill between an instructor with an extensive active military background, and Schmucky the Clown who *earns* his Krav Maga certification after a weekend seminar.
Any input is appreciated.

So I have heard from a couple of fellow gym owners in my area that are very experienced military guys that Krav Maga is a made up martial art and that you can just teach Muay Thai and BJJ and call it Krav Maga if you want to make some easy money. Because there isn't any actual thing called Krav Maga. This from a guy who was a Navy Seal and trained with Israeli Special Forces guys directly. So......that's interesting.

Are you thinking of learning it?

I have no interest in learning it. I was just wondering if there anything legitimate about it. I'm sure the IDF has a real combatives progrmme, but is it the KM that's marketed abroad?

Krav Maga is a made up martial art
All martial arts are made up!
Related to Daniël's opening post, I like Ramsey Dewey's take on Krav: https://youtu.be/GASQkGpjJvE?t=395 (link goes to timestamp that gets to the point, but the whole video is pretty relevant).
