I have tried so many things to get the stink out of old gis and rash guards. I have done vinegar, bleach, hang them outside, catch them of fire, etc.

We have a guy that shoes horses for a living (farrier) and his wife was so tired of him smelling like horse poop. She found this laundry stuff and it took the horse poop stink off his clothes so he tried it on his gis. Well I have found that this stuff works.

Anyone else have anything?

Odoban will kill whatever gunk is making your gi stink. And oxyclean (or generic oxygen bleach) is great for stains, particularly blood.

I think there is a certain point when nothing works and it’s time to just throw the gi or rash guard out. I’ve started using tide odor pods in the wash with Sweat X laundry detergent. The combo works really well.

Can it rescue a super sweat soaked gi that was left in the trunk of a car on a hot summer day?

No matter what I've tried with those gis, they smell fine after laundry, but once you sweat in them again, the funk returns. Always end up trashing them.

I had found some fixes that I thought had won. Some of my favorite gis (I have like 14 total but wear 3 all the time) would fake me out. Thought I had beaten that funk and then boom it was heat activated like an old hyper color shirt from 1993. Once I started to sweat the stink was there. This stuff so far has beaten that.

Oxyclean was just a lie.

We'd use that for our kid's reusable diapers. Seemed to work pretty well.

These days I just use odoban. Pour it into the fabric softener dispenser. If you have a Sams club membership or know someone that does, you can get a 4 pack for 30 bucks. It'll last a good while.

Oxy Clean works quite well. Then Febreze spray (after wash/dry), if there is any left over smell/odor.
