I wash my belt every time I wash my gi. Some instructors tell their students not to wash it

I wash mine. I know the amount of hands that have touched my belt during training. The amount of sweat, blood and dirty ness that I get on it during training is just gross!

Washed all my belts ONE TIME; the day I’ve been promoted. Never washed any of them after that. Why do we care? Are you licking your belt after a training session? It’s two inches that covers your ass, the rest of your ass you have to cover yourself
Sigh...

I washed my training underwear the day I bought it, never after that. What do you care? Are you going to lick it after training?

This is the most idiotic thing I've read on Beltchecker.
I hope y'all have an excellent day.
I'm out here drinking pinot grigio in the sun, ruminating about life love regret, you know the deal.
Someone's gotta do it. Might as well be me.

Got a proposition for you. I'll rub two inches of my gi pants in poop. Feel like rolling with me? I mean it's just two inches of poop on my pants somewhere. After all, I'm sure you've never licked anyone's pants in training. Why would you care? I'll keep everything else spotless on that gi except for the two inches of poop. I'm sure it won't be a problem.

I'd join you but distance is a thing.

Ironic. I consider drinking alcohol to be significantly more dangerous to myself and everyone around me than not washing my belt.

People you all need to stop shaming others.
So if I make it known that I don't care for something it's shaming? Give me a fucking break.

Really as long as your washing yourself and your training equipment as soon as you get home you should be fine regardless of other people's bad hygiene.
It's the people who don't take care of themselves as well that will be punished from others doing the same.
It's like allowing 2 brand new white belt's to go full on game of thrones sparring on day 1.
Keeping your equipment clean including your belt helps others who maybe are dumb enough not to clean themselves properly after practice right away. There are a lot of people when they first start training don't understand how important their hygiene is the first few months or even up to a year after they start training sometimes.
