At some point the person behind the camera ask one of the guys "You're not even going to cook that spinach, you just eat it raw? That's hardcore". Sorry for going off topic here, but does anyone else consider it hardcore to eat spinach raw?? I assumed that was kind of a normal thing to do. wtf is this tv show :D

I’m not eating uncooked spinach that’s for sure. Gotta have it fried with fish sauce.

Yeah raw spinach is good. Even better with bacon and sautéed mushrooms

I am actually facing Andrew Wiltse in a few hours and some other random black belt. Today is not going to be my day. At least I will be close to lot's of fudge and candy shops after.

He beat everyone in under 30 seconds except me so there you go Daniel lol. Seriously he was really damn good. He beat 4 guys in under 30 seconds, and he beat me in 90 seconds.
I did manage to Kimura the other black belt so I am now 2-1 vs Black Belts :-p
Really cool dude though and met Bernardo Faria.

You new Jiu-Jitsu black belt generation, showering the week before a competition.
At the original mundials, if someone scraped your forehead with their gi, or did so in practice the week before the competition, flowers would immediately sprout from your forehead.

So, I'll address a few things here. While I'm not affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form, I have become friends with a few of them.
They train in the laundry mat because it's cheap. Members pay $50 IF they can afford it; Heath just wants people to train and spread BJJ. He doesn't want money to be the limiting factor. Several of them now have houses that they rent out with 10+ people sharing it, so I don't think the shower thing is as bad now as it once was; think there are at least two houses.
There are plenty of women that train there (and at other PSF affiliates).
Despite what the documentary kind of shows them to be, they are honestly some of the nicest people you'll meet. Alejandro, Jorge, and Jacob are all great, down to Earth dudes. I've met several others in passing, but had conversations with those three and honestly can't say enough good things about them.

Started watching and these dudes are hardcore. I don’t think I have nearly the drive that they have to just uproot my life and live and train with 10+ dudes daily. I like my California weather and AC lol.

LOVE the daisy fresh videos and crew. Can't get enough of their videos, always rooting for them when I see them in competitions. Wish I had known about them when I was younger with no family and responsibility.
