Hi everyone,
My name is Darius Kumana and I am based in London UK. At the end of last year I was awarded my black-belt by Professor Arlans Siqueira. This was a milestone in my BJJ journey that I never thought I would see when I started training back in 2004. Along the way I've learnt loads, made great friends and had wonderful experiences. Equally I've suffered hardships, the inevitability of age, injuries that I thought would stop me and the trials of balancing time and attention between my own training, teaching at my academy, my family and my day job.
One thing is I now realise is that whatever happens - jujitsu makes me feel whole and allows me to become the best version of myself. I will be training in this art for as long as I can and will always do my best to pass on what I have learned to my students.
I stumbled across this site think recently and think it is an absolutely fantastic idea. So much of the jujitsu I have grown to love is centred around community so anything that helps grow or empower that community is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
I have now registered and am a few hundred points away from being verified. I have uploaded a selection of videos and photos of my journey to date, but if you want to get a more up-to-date view please check out my Instagram @the_fighting_arts_academy
I'd be incredibly grateful if folks could spare the time to check out my profile (and then vote if and only if they see fit).
