Well last Thursday me and few of my fellow brown belts were shown the secret hand shake and sprinkled with pixie dust and became ninjas. At least that is what I used to think happened to guys when they got their black belts. Turns out I have the same shitty game but a very cool new black belt.

I took my first class in 1999 and found a school to get serious with in 2005. After a six year hiatus I started again as a purple belt in 2015. All this time around the game and 2+ years as a brown I was still shocked. I've never felt comfortable at the new belt level (except for blue belt where they all feel like it's long over due) and this is no exception. It feels crazy and amazing!
