This is the perfect place for BJJ boomers. And no ads! Or is there? I'm not shamed to admit that I use ad blocks.

Don't worry, I hate ads too, so this site is ad free :)

I had one of those January 1st, 2001 accounts or what it was that was the shit back then on UG
I would mainly lurk on the "otherground" part and the local forums. Used to be hilarious.
Now not so much. It's still going but not like it was.

Facebook killed all of these sites. I ran a martial arts forum for Denmark and we had 1000 posts a day (5 million people in the whole country). Completely died when Facebook came along. This site is my official shot at winning back the forum culture from Facebook :) :)

I have to admit that I've been wondering what would keep me around once I'm verified ... apart from updating my profile should I get promoted. However, as an old-school forum user and occasional admin, I must admit to enjoying this blast-from-the-past experience. So I'll probably continue to lurk around the forum ... inserting my 10-cents-worth from time to time. BTW, I have a little competition running ... quite coincidentally, I uploaded my credentials to the IBJJF on the same day I registered here, so it will be interesting to see which organisation awards me "Verified" status first. :)
