At our small at-home gym, it's free classes for "the first few times", so prospective students can get a feel for the various instructors (Sambo on Mondays, No-gi Thursdays, morning classes led by students, etc.)
Then
¥10,000 | $77 1st Registration
¥10,000 | $77 regular
¥6,500 | $50 (ladies, students)
¥5,000 | $38 Kids
At a larger Gym Chain in Tokyo
¥11,000 | $85 1st Registration
¥25,000 | $192 Full Time
¥16,500 | $127 Students
¥11,000 | $85 Kids
That's with the Yen being quite low at 129

I charge £50 a month for unlimited, £35 for once a week.
IMO a lot of BJJ gyms are charging way more than they can reasonably justify. If you aren't in a place with super high commercial rent, don't have incredible facilities, loads of high level black belt instructors, packed timetable etc, then IMO you should not be charging $125+.
To each their own, I can't control what people charge. But I can control what I charge: keeping prices low is important to me.

Origin Darlington is the same as you, £50 a month unlimited, £35 a month for 2 class per week, £20 a month for 1 class per week.
Drop in class is £5 and privates vary on time allocated.
I think overheads dictate a lot in the current climate.

Nice! I followed my instructor Kev Capel's example. He was charging £40 a month for years, it's now up to £50 a month (i think? I just pay the drop in, as I'm only there a few times a year). He's based in Aylesbury, north of London, whereas I'm in Bristol. I had mine at £40 a month as long as I could, until that big inflation jump last year meant I decided to finally raise prices after 9 years.
If £50 is high enough for him (Kev is a multiple degree black belt with loads of other black belts teaching at his place too), it's definitely high enough for me.

I pay 120 euros per year. Our gym is non-profit, offers three instructed classes per week (open also for independent training whenever the mat is not used for something else) and is more of a hobbyist gym than a super competitive affiliate thing. We do have competitors though and quite a many purple and brown belts.

How much have I paid over the years? Let’s see… A sprained neck (twice), one torn labrum, one separated shoulder, one sprained elbow, two sprained wrists, one sprained knee, two sprained ankles, one sprained finger, and one broken nose. ;)
Seriously, though, my dues have been about $100 per month (plus private lessons, which have ranged from $50–$125 per hour depending on the professor). My 13-year-old son’s dues are currently $75 per month for two BJJ classes per week.
I currently teach BJJ classes at Westminster College that are free for all students, faculty, and staff. Well, they’re “free” for the students after they pay $32,000 per year in tuition, plus fees. :)

At my gym, I charge:
£55 for unlimited - 17 classes, 5 Open Mats and 2 Yoga sessions - unlimited members also get a code to use the gym out of hours.
£45 for off-peak - morning, lunchtime and weekend sessions; that's 7 classes and 1 open mat
£35 - 8 Classes/month
We also do £6 per class / £5 for open mat - we offer 10% discount on all Memberships and PAYG options.
We're competitively priced for Glasgow, considering we have solid tuition from six instructors (myself included), a good facility, a sauna - and most importantly, a proper coffee machine!

Thats not bad pricing Giles for a gym in the city, Ours at Darlington is similar too yours.
I remember when I was looking for a gym in Belfast area for my daughter to train whilst at Uni, the prices ranged all over.
Some of which were quite high.

One thing I found very interesting on my travels around the world and you can even see it in this post. Training Martial Arts in the United States is expensive. When I lived in Germany everything was around 35-50 Euro per month. Japan was roughly 80 USD per month for BJJ. To be fair to rent a space in the United States is expensive too, plus insurance, electric and water. I taught in Okinawa, Netherlands and Germany but I would teach on bases so I didn't have to charge a lot. I didn't have any overhead. So maybe the prices vary depending on the overhead of the schools.

I have always spent between $75 and $100. I have hard time swallowing prices beyond that right now. Due to my schedule, I also have to find gyms that host late evening classes (after 7pm) and gyms that had early morning classes (6am). I am fortunate enough to have a school that offers both classes at my time slots and does not charge an arm and leg to train.

Some massive fluctuations in prices I’ve noticed.
One thing I will say from personal experience. The cheaper the price the more people will take it for granted.

Yes and no. I have seen dudes spent $150 usd and above and still not train regularly. I saw dudes spend $50 usd a month and basically living there. It really depends on how discipline the person is.
I do think some individuals, with no experience, view the pricing scale as a indicator of instructor's desirability and knowledge.

This is a known marketing strategy. People will assume if the prices are higher than the product must be better. This is how companies like Mercedes and BMW stay in business.

Which is sad because the highest priced school in my town is run by a blue belt.

I realize that. When I took a couple of semesters of marketing, my professor gave us a story about crown royal, originally a cheaper whisky alternative, to compete with Jack and of the like. However, their sales grew on an annual rate of less than a few percentage points and that was not a sustainable model. An outside individual came in, jacked up the price, redesign the bottle, and added a nice velvet carrying case.
They are now regarded as a premium spirit and the new crowd often considers it the best (before they know any better) all because of a few changes to their branding.
Marketing a powerful tool.

$190 for me and my son to train, which is very low for this area. San Diego prices are upwards of 200 bucks/month easily at many academies around here, but also many well known practitioners are here. Ribeiros (not any more though), Galvao, Fabio Santos, Jeff Glover, Clark Gracie, Royler Gracie, Joao Faria, Dean Lister, the list goes on.

If one were to count blood, sweat, and tears...I've paid dearly. HaHA A bit of drama, no?
I pay 60 a month at one place, and I get to go about two to three times a week, but I can go whenever it is open and it is mostly Gi Ji-Jitsu. We are a few South West Georgia country guys and girls with delusions of grandeur! It is a very unpretentious place to train.
I pay 100 a month to another place an hour and one half away to train with them on Saturday and Sunday, It has Gi and NoGi. At that rate, I am restricted to weekends and holidays. This is a father-and-son academy that is very much focused on the sport aspect of BJJ. I get a lot of good looks at BJJ sport techniques here. These folks are very welcoming and a bit more serious about competing.

$170 a month for as many classes as you want and free use of the facility when classes are not in session. That's BJJ, judo, muay thai, boxing, wrestling, kali, MMA, fitness and yoga. $65 a month for a single (2x a week) class.

My gym is £50 a month for all the BJJ, Muay Thai and MMA classes. Or it’s £5 per session which is what I do as I only do the BJJ classes. I feel lucky that I don’t live in a big city or I’d be paying way more.

$135/month for unlimited classes & between jiu jitsu (gi/no gi) and muay thai.... there is also a fitness area that can be used. The good thing that I like about my gym as compared to many is that during the day there is usually someone there between classes so you can meet up with people to train at odd times if necessary.
Edit: compared to my general area that is roughly middle of the road. There are some MMA gyms that are less expensive (~$75 range, however they are also more "free form" with less involved coaching) and there are some newer gyms between $150-200. My old gym was $100 at the time however the hours/classes were a fair amount more restrictive.
I live in the Northeast of the USA in a small metro area... I would assume places like DC/NY/Philly/Boston would be approaching $300 a month on average.

I charge $40 per month for BJJ Kickboxing, and Sambo.
We are considerably below the area average, by a bunch. Most are in the $150 per month range, upwards to $250 for one of the local gyms.

CANADA: Kingston $72, Montreal $50
DENMARK: Copenhagen $53; Odense $50
ESTONIA: Tallinn $94, Tartu $53
FINLAND: Helsinki $53, Kenminmaa $11, Oulu $58

NETHERLANDS: Culemborg $48, Hoogvliet $53
NORWAY: Oslo $60
PORTUGAL: Lisbon $58
SCOTLAND: Glasgow $58 (yes, I'm listing it separately from UK, or Giles will headbutt me ;) )
SWEDEN: Stockholm $64
UK: Bristol $60 (Artemis BJJ), $103 (Pedro Bessa); Darlington $60; Lytham St Annes $60, Yeovil $54
USA: Madison, AL $180; San Jose, CA $200; Colorado Springs, CO $160; Washington, DC $150-$200; Albany, GA $100; Kansas City, KS $40; Portland, ME $135; Chanhassen, MN $164; Columbia, MO $100; Asheville, NC $135; Omaha, NE $100 (Matt's new gym), $50 (Matt's old gym); North Canton, OH $75 (Tim H), $115 (Tim H's son); Portland, OR $150; Scotts Hill, TN $60; Willis, TX $155, Austin, TX $170; Woodbridge, VA $199; Madison, WI $50

That's all monthly prices in US $ (based on what google tells me the exchange rate is right now, so Mar 2023) for unlimited classes at clubs around the world, based on this thread (except anybody who wasn't clear about the price, or I couldn't find their location).
Based on that (which fits with the many threads on this same topic I've seen elsewhere, especially r/bjj), the US is generally waaaaay higher than everywhere else on the planet, though a few states are more reasonable (plus some outlier clubs that manage to keep their prices lower even in expensive states, judging by this thread).
