I have this giant mole on my low back. I've always had it. I remember trying to look at it in the mirror when I was a kid. As I've gotten older, it's gotten bigger. No surprise. That's what happens often. In the last few years, it has "hurt" from time to time. I have said to myself on a number of occasions, "I should get my dr to check this out, just to be safe." Of course, it stops hurting and I stop thinking about it. On December 29, 2023, I woke in the morning and it was a little painful. I was about to drive for a couple hours to a holiday open mat, so of course I thought to myself the usual about getting it checked, but ignored it. I go to the open mat and roll for 2 hours. There's a line for the shower after so I decide to just drive home and cleanse. I get home and step in the shower, and a sharp stinging pain jolts me to attention. I hop out to look in the mirror and there is blood pouring down my ass crack. lol. The mole is about 50% torn off and bleeding like a son of a bitch. I have no idea when (during the rolls) it happened. It didn't bleed on the way home and I didn't feel a thing until the water hit it. Anyways, now it REALLY hurts and I'm off to the dr to have the remaining 50% removed and sent for analysis. Weird, right? :)

Not too weird... I hope.

I have a small handful of sizable moles on my skin, and there's one that's on my mid back that can get rubbed raw, and bleed from time to time.

This happens especially if I'm doing a lot of guard work and am not wearing a rash guard underneath my gi: very rare for me, unless I'm competing in a tournament or something that mandates no rash guards.

Still probably worth getting a medical opinion of course, and, at least in my case, I feel like I would be a lot more comfortable in life if I just got it removed anyway, so maybe you would too.

Hopefully this at least helps to make your wait in the waiting room less anxiety inducing.

So the Dr took a look at it and was pretty sure that it's not cancerous. He did say it should come off because moles bleed like crazy and he didn't think it would heal well. So a bit of freezing, a quick slice, and some cauterizing and... she gone! He's sending it off for analysis to be safe, but doesn't think I have anything to worry about. :)

He made me sweat quit a bit though. lol

I had a mole on my back until my brown belt promotion. Got whipped so much the mole exploded, split in two places. That's when I decided to get it removed, it had bothered a bit every once in a while due to rash burn. Doctor was kinda confused when he saw the back all purple and brown. Super happy I had it removed. Hasn't bothered me since.
