That's just how the site works.
Anytime you update your rank with the exception of "Time Served" option, your profile needs to be reverified.
I had over 40k points and it all reset to 0 when I was promoted.

I do not belive it resets the points if a belt lower than black ad stripes. Is this correct?
Say I add striped to my belt, my points will stay? I think that is how it works, but i got a little unsure now.

Stripes on colour belts should not trigger reverifications.
Black Belt degrees do require reverification.

I added a picture of my blue belt certificate I found from 2015 then lost all my points 🤙🏻🤣
