Have used different ones at every belt. I think my original Koral white belt or Shoyoroll purple were my favorite… not too thick or stiff. The blue belt was a Gameness and very stiff making it come untied all the time!

My white belt was a tatami. Not really my brand. So when I got my blue belt, I got a Ground Force belt (blue label). I like it very much, good quality

I loved my purple tatami deluxe belt, but my new Brown belt is embroided with school name and logo, so it’s hard to motivate a new premium belt right now

My Moya white belt somehow walked away from the looker room, replaced it with a Ronin brand and was very happy with it. When promoted to Blue, professor gave me another Moya belt, it was OK, I did buy another Moya when the 1st one started to fall apart but it was not good quality and odd color too. When promoted to Purple I was given an Obikano belt, I like it very much and fully recommend it if you are not looking for a premium belt brand. If I would have money to spare, I'll like to try one of those nice Half Sumo Black Mamba belts

I wear gi material belts, I like how soft they are and so far I haven’t met to many who wears them around my area…. When I eventually get to black belt I might look at getting a plain kataaro belt, they seem to be top notch (bought my brother a brown kataaro five years back and it looks stunning )
Big fan of kataaro Belt. So we'll made.

My blue was from Eosin Panther, it was nice and soft. My purple is a Killer Bee, my instructor has a history with them and I absolutely love it.

Honestly though, I was so happy to receive it that it could've been made of just about anything. The killer bee is made from a really heavy weave gi material and seems to be super durable.

My white, blue, and now brown belt have been Vulkans. I can't complain and they've done well holding up and not falling apart.

I am also a fan of Isami. I always buy an extra belt to go alongside my promoted belt. I compete a lot so I have one that normally passes the belt checker (at competitions) and the other belt gets all beat up from many training sessions. :)

I got a bit silly when I got promoted to Black. Thought I'd wait until I got my 2nd or 3rd stripe before spending money on an expensive belt. I now have 11 gis and 9 belts. Almost a belt from every brand. Far more expensive than that one special one lol.

That being said, I dig the Sanabul Vintage Series. Great look and quality for the price.

I love Kaataro belts.
They truly are the best made belts! Customized exactly the way you want it.

Kataaro has been my go to for the last 5 years. American made and the best quality
Kataaro for me as well.

Haven't worn any other brand except for Kanji since 2009.

The Kanji was a custom belt given to me as a gift.

It's nice but nowhere near my Kataaro's.

I used

: No Brand White Belt
: No Brand Blue Belt
: Tatami Purple Belt - Great belt but a little thicker when brand new. It became softer as time went by.
: Vandal Brown Belt - Awesome belt but super fast to age. After a year and few washing... it became vintage looking already.
: Fuji Black Belt - Not so thick and not so thin. I think it is a great belt. I see breakage in the knot area. My belt is less than a year old.
: Mizuno Gold Judo Black Belt - The best hand crafted belt but a little thicker than any BJJ Belt.

Still The Green Gi for me. Since I last posted on this thread three years ago, I've been promoted. I therefore again dyed both the ones I have, black this time, and stitched a red rank bar on them both.

One normal solid red bar, one Thundercats. Because Thundercats.

The Inverted Gear bamboo weave "fancy" belts are nice. I have worn one for a year (for reference I train about 7 hours per week in the Gi) and it doesn't appear to be losing its color or stitching

For comparison, my The Green Gi belts are both over a decade old. Although I don't train hard, so they have an easy life. ;)

When I was promoted to Black Belt my Coach gave me a Black Armor belt and it appears to be near indestructible but definitely a bit stiff and heavy at first. I love it.

I really like the Swedish brand called "Rebelz", their premium belts have a great overall feeling and have a more deeper contrast in their colours.

Last month my professor told me he planned to promote me to black this month so I ordered myself a kataaro thinking I'd wear it and put the cheaper brand one I expected to receive on my display at home. He surprised me with a custom embroidered kataaro yesterday! Now I have two excellent belts I guess 😅

Ugh I would kill for one of those belts.

Ha, not these specific belts, as they're both A1. If you're normally A3, that's going to involve a pretty extreme diet plan. Or I guess somehow stitching two A1 belts together? :P

Shamless plug.... Warrior Athletics is one of my favorites.

My outer fabric is 100% Cotton, the base is of Bardana/Jute. The belt is about 268 Grams with a thickness of about 4mm.
