The Law of Jante really reminds me of the Borg on Star Trek. They both take away individuality and prioritize the group over the individual.

This is some of silliest shit, I have ever seen. The entire concept of belt ranks is not only a silly social construct, It is entirely contrary to knowledge transfer, and acquisition. If the blue belt, or the white belt, is doing something the best, Make them the teacher for a day, or days, or months, or years. The irony that I am the one saying, 'Jante's Law'.
Same goes for university degrees and I sure am gladly taught by someone knowledgeable without a degree in the field.
It is what it is, a proxy which might or might not indicate an approximate level of skills and knowledge and it's up to you trust the degree of someone with only 2½ years of university level studies in total but a claimed (no evidence but the assurances of other alumni) master's degree from The University of The Prince of Nigeria. Or if you expect the more established years in university for each degree and also want to see a diploma and that you through some quick googling can make sure that the university is legit according to your expectations.

Outside of STEM degrees, university degrees are by and large, also silly social constructs.
And social "science" university degrees, including Psychology degrees, for instance, are not STEM degrees.
In fact, the fact we are still using an educational system model that is largely antiquated is rather ridiculous.

Going back to the thread start topic, I just found some statistics I did a year ago on the reasons behind my own down votes and non sufficient evidence was behind 72% of those down votes.

Second most common reason was less than 2:nd degree BB:s promoting others to BB, with 13% (around 25% of these had two or more levels of <2:nd degree promoting instructors along the lineage, so it could even be questioned if the promoting instructor was a legit BB).

There were also some odd ones, such as a black belt claiming to be a white belt, two persons down voted because their degrees weren't even in BJJ and four(!) persons who claimed to have been training since before they were even born.

four(!) persons who claimed to have been training since before they were even born.
I have a friend who is a 4th degree black belt in TKD who continued training while she was pregnant. So perhaps there is a basis for claiming you've been training before actual birth? (-;

If incomplete, I don't up or down vote. I would only dispute one that I see as blatantly false. If other people choose to up vote an incomplete profile, that's up to them. This is a social experiment, not a governing body with a board.

I don't see any disputes in your profile. How do you know you got disputed?

Well there is no Betwist or Disputed in your profile atm. Maybe someone pressed a wrong button and corrected their mistake?

"Probably me", I was going to write, but see that I up voted you a month ago, so I guess it wasn't the usual suspect this time :-)

Betwist in dutch means: Disputed
It actually looks as it was a dispute against the home gym. Did you remove that? Probably why none of us can see it.

That's not a dispute/downvote, it's just that the administrator of the academy on your profile has marked you as not being an active member there any more.
