Long story short, want to compete at some upcoming comps and need someone to sign off on my black belt. The promoting instructor will not. Any help is appreciated and I can compensate for any fees or time put in to do so. I find it strange how it's set up as some kind of secret club entrance...I've competed in Ibjjf at purple over a decade ago, but now as a black belt they make it extremely difficult if you dont pay fees to an association that is recognized by them. Also from my understanding, it takes 2 minutes to click yes or declined so it's really not hard to do. Sorry for end rant, but again any help is appreciated and I can compensate financially if needed.

Just tell me to mind my own business and that will be that, but I'm curious why the promoting instructor won't sign off?

He may have had a falling out with the original promoting instructor perhaps....

Either that or the actual "will not" is jump through the hoops to get themselves IBJJF certified. An understandable, if not practical, possibility.

It's a bit of both. Falling out, and the promoting instructor is not recognized as the right rank from Ibjjf to do so anyway. Robson would be the one to sign off, but I dont teach under that affiliation any more.
