November 11th isn’t just Veterans Day, it’s a time to honor, empower, and reconnect. Across the country, Jiu Jitsu gyms are stepping up with events that do more than celebrate service, they create opportunity.

Groups like We Defy Foundation are leading the charge, offering scholarships that help disabled and transitioning veterans start their Jiu Jitsu journey. These aren’t just classes, they’re lifelines. Every roll builds confidence, community, and mental clarity.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Check your local gym for Veterans Day events this November: many are hosting fundraisers, open mats, and seminars that directly support We Defy scholarships. If you are in the Tampa area we are hosting an event on November 12th contact me directly for the details.

Share your story: How has Jiu Jitsu helped you or someone you know reclaim purpose after service? Below is a link to one that I was personally involved with.

Spread the word: Let’s make sure every veteran knows there’s a place for them on the mat.

Whether you’re a seasoned black belt or just curious about starting, this forum is your space to connect, support, and grow. Let’s build a thread that honors the warrior spirit—and helps others find their second mission.
