Transgender people on beltchecker

I have a transgender friend who would like to participate in the Beltchecker community, but his user profile is displaying his legal name, which isn't good. How can we resolve this situation so that his chosen name appears instead of his legal name (the name on his documents)?

Unfortunately it's not possible to create a profile that doesn't match a legal name. It's a fundamental premise for trusting that the profiles belong to who they claim to belong to, I'm afraid.

But the profile corresponds to a legal name. He will send the documents which will be verified by the moderators and the coach, this guarantees its veracity. The only request is that the deceased's name does not appear on the profile, out of respect and ethics.

I understand. But the profile must show the legal name and it must be correct. Otherwise the foundation for the platform's verification feature wouldn't work.
However, it is totally possible to use Beltchecker without ID verification and another name. The only feature not available is receiving or giving verification votes.

But what we're looking for here at BeltChecker is precisely the peer verification that the platform provides. Could you help us find a plausible solution that isn't disrespectful? This is an important cause.

My professor intends to ask all students in the social project to create a Beltchecker account, but this is becoming a problem.

I completely understand why this matters, and I appreciate you explaining the situation. At the same time, we can’t make exceptions. If we allow one profile to display a name that doesn’t match the legal documents, we would have to allow the same for everyone, and that would undermine the core principle behind Beltchecker’s identity verification.
Once we open the door for exceptions, we also open the door for countless other requests to hide or change legal names for many different personal reasons (we already have them in our email inbox every week). At scale, this becomes impossible to manage and would eventually break the trust that the verification system depends on. The platform only works because every verified profile follows the same rules and shows the legal name that has been checked.
