Jesse Briggs is not listed as a Rigan Machado black belt (see https://www.riganbjj.com/[...]belts.html) and I have only been able to find affiliate status (no evidence about BB promotion) with Erik Paulson (see https://erikpaulson.com/a[...]ates-list/). Would really help if Jesse Briggs completed his Beltchecker profile.
Also, you have no evidence at all on your profile showing time in BJJ before BB. Would be good to add (and also if Enrique completed his Beltchecker profile).

The important one to show is 0:th degree BB, as some senior BB:s hand out time-served-stripes to new acquaintances without much due diligence. Social media posts thanking your instructor for the latest degree and telling the story how (s)he gave you the black belt x years ago, along with a like or comment from the instructor, thus confirming, can be excellent (although informal) evidence. I see none of that in the linked Instagram post, where the picture is also just a together.
On Dave's profile, I also see a together-with-pic (and only for stripes), but also a diploma (not strong evidence in itself) for no degree BB, that's usually combined evidence which I personally accept.
Nothing really showing time in BJJ before BB though. All put together, this for me is a case where it's not strong enough for my up vote but not weak enough for a down vote, so simply a no vote for me as of now.

@Johan, while I appreciate your "thoroughness", I also see you basically squabble with everyone on here, acting like the beltchecker Sherlock Holmes. I have plenty of legit verified blackbelts on here that know me and have trained with me for years. Your opinion is not needed - thanks.

With all due respect, everyone's opinion is needed. Even opinions we don't agree with. That's what makes this a community. We don't all have to agree.
Telling someone their opinion isn't needed does not seem to follow the basic ideologies of this site.
From what I understand, this is supposed to be inclusive of everyone. Standards will vary. Opinions will defer. But nobody should be silenced.
We vote, and like in life not everyone chooses to do so. We all have choices, and free will of how to make them.
Not everyone will agree with how others chose to vote, but that doesn't silence their voice. One vote does not make a community. But one vote certainly belongs as a part of it.

Can you clarify the difference between thoroughness (no citation marks) and "thoroughness"?
New to the internet? If you don't care for the opinion of others, perhaps it's a good idea not to start forum threads.
You obviously needed votes, so I hope you're not to traumatized from hearing from another member of the Beltchecker community how you could improve your profile to get that up vote from him (explicitly also saying "No worries! Won't down vote you even if you don't"). You could actually just say "Thanks for the advice, but just reaching verified status is good enough for me for now".

@Justin, I agree with you - however if you notice with this particular individual he literally creates a squabble with everyone. Read his response he would downgrade Rickson? He can have his opinion and cast his vote, what isn't needed is his insuations or explanations of his insuations, which seem to be said for the only reason as to cause a stir. See that's me expressing my opinion on his opinions lol.

@Johan, na I'm not new to the internet. The last thing I would be is traumatized by your words (I spent 23 years in the Army and I know real trauma). I wouldn't down vote you out of some petty anger either. I can appreciate your jiu-jitsu journey and the fact you appreciate our sport. It's a moot point now. We can agree to disagree on this.

"Read his response"? Have you?
From another thread but, I wrote "And if Roger, Royce or Rickson registered a profile on Beltchecker and claimed in their promotion history that no degree BB Paul Busby and him alone promoted them to BB, I would down vote them as well. If you click the down vote button, you see the text "Are you sure that you want to dispute the validity of the profile information and/or belt history for...". The validity of the belt history is NOT correct if you claim you were promoted solely by someone who was not the senior black belt promoting you. I doesn't matter if I know who actually did and that it's someone very legit - your profile belt history is still not valid until it has been corrected.
Would YOU not dispute the validity of a belt history claiming Rickson's black belt was awarded to him by <2:nd degree black belt Paul Busby? It's simply not true, even if Rickson himself or even the Pope was to claim it.
Is that "creating a squabble" to point out? It wouldn't even be an "insinuation" or "opinion" - it would be pointing out a matter of fact. Or do you think I would have to make it even more clear for not being just an insinuation "for the only reason as to cause a stir"?

I can validate that Dave is an actual person who is still alive and breathing, has done Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has competed in BJJ tournaments. I am including a picture of us getting our Judo Blue Belts together with our Judo coach Maurice Allan in 2015 as proof that he is, indeed, not an AI generated machine and is, in fact, a human being. I was a 1st degree BJJ Black Belt at that time, the two other students were BJJ purple belts at that time and are both BJJ Black Belts now as is Dave.
And by the way, not that this actually necessarily matters, but Dave Frizzell is one of my favorite people in the world and someone I personally look up to for thousands of reasons. That dude is a real, actual hero who never talks about it and never asks for anything.
When I grow up (one day it will happen, I swear) I want to be like Dave Frizzell.

I met and trained with Dave back in 2015 and I'm sure I saw him get his blue belt. Been following him on and off since he left our gym. The man is as legit as they come.
@Johan. Sounds like you should go to his gym and test out his lineage. Le us know how that works out.

Diploma together with later degree promotion pics with Jesse Briggs is good evidence, but haven't been able to track the lineage to by voting standards (but enough not to vote at all).
How would I "test out" a lineage, even if I would be let into the US? Machado lineage black belts don't really grow on trees in the Nordic region, so what would I compare to? And how would I feel from this "test out" process who specifically promoted Dave's instructor from brown to black? Would I feel a difference if all other promotions but that one was from Erik Paulson?
Would be cool if it worked like that, but I'm not from some movie where some dude has magic powers and can analyze every detail of someone's memories by touching them. So I think I'll have to continue to rely on presented evidence available in the outside world.

@Johan, I am really done with this for real. The Simple solution is this: Go Look on the websites. Erik Paulson, Jesse Briggs and Myself all run legitimate academies, where we all make a living by teaching full time. Jesse's gym is on Erik's website, he is one of Erik's senior Blackbelts, Call and speak to Erik yourself. Look on Jesse's Academy website, you will see I am listed as a coach and an Affiliate, call Jesse's academy. The point is I don't need to go and explain my entire life to you, because sitting here arguing back and forth about what I and many other Blackbelts and training partners know to be true is silly. Just cast your vote and move on man. You are welcome to come to my academy in Huntsville Alabama if you are ever in this area and drop in and train. Beyond this, I am done with this dude. Here is a pic from a few years ago of me, a friend and fellow Blackbelt Gus, Erik Paulson and Jesse Briggs after a training session at Jesse's academy in 2019. Again I wish you well man, but I'm done with this thread - thanks.

@Johan Real talk man. In almost every single damn post, you find a way to insert yourself and basically dispute everyone’s validity except your own. You are turning what was a pleasant place to be here into a place that people no longer want to post or even use the app at all. Yes, this app is for the community to validate each other but you have absolutely taken it too far. No one here is required to give you their life story for 175 points. So seriously, chill out. And with this, because of you, this will personally be my last post, ever on here. I will use this app to keep track of my training as I have started to this past January but that’s it. You are simply not worth the time or stress. Best of luck to you and to all.

Leonardo tagged me and I replied. I'll make sure to let you know if I stumble upon an internet where that's not what you do. And a Beltchecker.com where you do not check belts.

Man, I love the character Johan has created here on Beltchecker. The desire and drive to control someone's approval on here is a lot of fun to watch. Not sure if this is how he is in person or not but MAN I hope so. It would be so disappointing to meet him one day and NOT have him act like he was better than everyone in the room.

Unfortunately difficult to keep the act up when you tap to everyone in the room ;-P
Also, there is no temple of the Beltcheckers on top of a tall Scandinavian mountain (sorry Christian, it wouldn't be in Denmark in any case) where I sit on my throne of confiscated black belts awarded by 1:st degrees or to someone without a meticously documented BJJ-journey and judge any poor traveller who expected not to have their belt checked when voluntarily entering.
Rather, I meet people from different academies all the time on open mats etc. and *shocker* if they feel like their belt, I assume they're that belt.
But I sure hope I'm not perfect, so I won't dissapoint you but give you something else about me to be annoyed about :-)
