He’s already preparing his final 625 page dissertation on this topic. It will be posted once it’s published under the author name, “Sheriff”

According to Johan's system, he may have cause.
Paulson and I were blue belts at the same time.
Different weight classes, though.

Not a member on Beltchecker and don't think anyone on Beltchecker claims a BB promotion from him before his 2:nd degree date anyways, so does it matter?
Chris Haueter, who Rigan promoted before Erik, is still a 6:th degree, which is fully in line with the established time frames.
I read at BJJdoc that Erik got blue from Rickson in 1990 and then stayed in blue for almost 17y and never got another colored belt (but more than enough total time in BJJ before BB anyways).
So don't think there's much of an argument that he has been a black belt for less than 31y. Or about him being a legend in grappling.

I am a fan of Paulson’s by and large.
I have zero problems with his rank.

@Willliam Murphy - Professor, he is an encyclopedia of knowledge. Good guy too. Like a lot of dudes on here, he does it because he loves it and helps who he can through martial arts.
