Careful offering anyone to compete through your association like that, it's what got BJJ Globetrotters banned from IBJJF haha

Did they boot you because anyone could register under Globetrotters? Were affiliate gyms an issue?

Yea I’ve had people piggybacking who aren’t in a current “IBJJF REGISTERED” academy as I want to help ppl out and give them the opportunity to compete.
I hate the ibjjf ruleset and always fight with them when doing the rules seminars on many things. I also get people want the chance to do it and get their names out there.

Yea I’ve been certified for a while now, do the background, ref course, safesport certification, etc.
I ONLY do it so my students and affiliates can compete in ibjjf and have that option to certify down the road. It’s definitely a cash grab and hate what they did to globetrotters.

Our team is doing the same thing. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
