This is growing on me. And holy crap academy management seems like a great tool! I wish more of our students registered. Tracking their progress and promotion history here would be so nice. I think I'll start up my own garage gym here too. :D
You can register members of your academy in the new management tool without them having/needing a Beltchecker profile. They'll just get an invite to fill that out, but it's not a requirement

A down vote is shown in the list of votes as "Voted against this rank" while the down vote itself was "Are you sure that you want to dispute the validity of the profile information and/or belt history".

There have e.g. been profiles claiming a thousand years of time on the mat, while having good evidence for the current rank and the time of it. So a dispute of the validity of the belt history but not of the current rank. And can of course also be a dispute of there being actual evidence for the claims on the profile or no information available anywhere showing the lineage is legit and instructor was legit to promote to the rank.

There has also been the case with e.g. Remco, who claimed a humble no degree black belt but with a different instructor than who actually did promote him to BB (more than a decade later). So a dispute there as well would not be a dispute of rank (at least not of the rank being too high) but a rank of belt history validity. After securing a verification with good margins, we also saw Remco claim an absurd first in Europe 6:th degree BB (going on coral next year), which shows the importance of not only disputing currently displayed degrees (they can quickly change with an automatically approved time-served-claim counting from the BB date) but also the validity of the belt history (both dates of belts and names of promoting instructors).

So would be good to display something else than "Voted against this rank". E.g. "voted against this rank or the promotion history being correct or verifiable", "Disputed rank or belt history validity/verifiability" or at least (shortest) "Voted against rank or belt history". .

Would also be good to update "Are you sure that you want to dispute the validity of the profile information and/or belt history" to something along the lines of "Are you sure that you want to dispute the validity or verifiability of the profile information and/or belt history". Or perhaps “Are you sure you want to dispute the accuracy of the profile information and/or belt history, or whether there is sufficient evidence to verify it?”.

And also the verification question "Are you sure that you trust the completeness and accuracy of the profile information and belt history" could be changed to e.g. "Are you sure you trust the completeness, accuracy, and verifiability of the profile information and belt history?". Or perhaps "Are you sure you trust that the profile information and belt history are complete, accurate, and supported by sufficient verifiable evidence?” or "Are you sure there is sufficient reliable information to establish the completeness and accuracy of the profile information and belt history?” .

Haven't been around in a bit, and was pleasantly surprised to see the new look and features. Well done.

I think the issue is its interperting a click from you, which auto "quotes" the whole text instead of just the part you want. I also dont like this as a default function.

Could we have at least a switch here to view between registered and verified users stats? Who cares if we have 5 registered unverified 10th degree red belts?

Maybe easy to implement:

"Profiles needing more votes verify" list should not display profiles I have already voted on.

Thank you.

This would be great (both here and on Judochecker). Thanks!

Also good that e.g. >3 months old profiles on that list are listed last (or only seen if you press a button in the end of the list), as they are typically undeserving of attention and steals thunder from honestly deserving profiles which actually have good evidence but are today obscured by heaps of old and sloppy profiles.

Thanks for the idea, it's live now!

The "Profiles needing more votes to verify" list on the front page and the full list (Stats > Need votes) no longer show your own profile or anyone you have already voted on. The full list tells you how many are hidden, and "Show all" brings them back.

It works the same on Judochecker and the other sister sites.

At least on Android, removing reaction emojis does not work, meaning if my fat thumb hits anything not intended, it's there forever. 😢

Of course! Just click stats -> belts 🙂
Sorry for being vague, but I wasn't referring to home much time was spent on each belt on a yearly basis but rather how much time in hours was spent on each belt.

I believe it might be quite easy to retrieve that info from the training log to put it on the stats page.

That would give us a nice view and comparison to know how much "real training time" has been spent on each belt and could even help to give us global stats too.

Most training hours of Beltcheckers were put in before there was Beltchecker.

I would like to add academies that I have visited that are not yet listed on Beltchecker.
Would that be possible?

Yes, you can do that in the "Your Jiu Jitsu world" map section

Am I correct in assuming that if enough people are adding in the academy then it will able to be found via search, or, does someone have to claim that academy in order for it to be recognized?

Is there a place where you can post announcements about seminars (distinguishing between public events and those open only to members) and possibly view a list of announcements posted by others? Or is there a calendar view?
