I swear, I only inquire out of sheer curiosity, but that “do you accept promotion by time served as a black belt” is an odd concept. Yes, I know that’s basically the methodology used by the IBJJF, but doesn’t that process still require a superior to sign off on it? Is beltchecker attempting to normalize a process for time-based degree promotions outside of the IBJJF guidelines?

Wrong topic but no, IBJJF does not require anyone to sign off on degrees, only on your black belt. See the FAQ https://beltchecker.com/faq.php#10

Looks like there needs to be some range checking on the start dates, although starting training centuries before you're born is admirable preparation.

This is weird one. It shows on the topic list that the last post on that topic should be by Esa, but it isn't visible in the thread itself.

I did the verification by credit card. the 2€ was whitdrawn from my account and it said ok.. now it says not verified.

You can only lose the credit card verification if you change anything in your name. Maybe it was never approved in the beginning? (If the name didn’t match exactly)

Looks like its possible to post more than the maximum number of pics by resubmitting the last pic twice (possibly more).I did this accidentally. May need some extra server side validation to stop malicious users from filling up your storage. Awesome site!

When registering our start date for our academy, the system only allows me to go as high as 2016. We started in 2017.

Hi Christian! Thanks for the amazing site you guys have built. The work you guys have put in is showing. As for the bug, I've copied/pasted the youtube URL into the appropriate space on the Competition screen, however, every time I click a video to verfiy it says video is unavailable.
Am I only supposed to paste a certain part of the URL?

The belt promotions will only let me put my current rank and time frame in so it’s saying my profile is incomplete. Do I have to put Brown, purple, blue, and start date in somewhere?

Yes.
Technically one can put just the (approx.) start date & a black belt and have the profile say the promotion history is "complete", but you should put all the color belts you've earned in-between too (with approx. dates if you can't find the exact dates), or add a mention if you've actually skipped any.
Some people will downvote profiles with belts missing in between to encourage complete promotion history reporting.

There’s an “edit promotion history” button right by your promotion history on your profile
