One of the best film poster art of all time!
One of favorite female characters in fantasy cinema.
I also enjoy the original stories by Robert E. Howard a great deal. (As well as Solomon Kane and others...)
Also gotta mention the spectacular soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. (Also the sequel's soundtrack is excellent, as is Ennio Morricone's score for Red Sonja, although those are way lesser movies.)
Conan is well deserving to take over any pitiful Star Wars discussion! :D

Yep, the soundtrack was amazing! Coupled with the fairly sparse dialogue and beautiful landscapes, really adds an immense amount to the film.
The REH original stories were great too, massive impact on DnD in general (Gygax and Arneson drew on them quite heavily). Downside would be his massive racism, pretty bad on sexism too (not an excuse, but I guess unsurprising on that score given he was writing in the '20s and '30s).

Well, it is 30s American pulp fiction. The racism also goes for H.P. Lovecraft, another favorite.
I also love the 40/50s hardboiled detective paperbacks, which are often hilariously massively sexist....
As long as that stuff makes the reader a little uncomfortable these days, I don't think it takes too much from the writing. Not like it's the main agenda in the stories, and they're also a reminder that we live in a better era now.

I like listening to that eras detective radio shows. They broadcast them here on Zoomer Radio at night. Comedy and mystery radio shows as well.
