I should add I think I'd still need 2 months focused coaching to be a real blue belt. A couple people told me I should be one, but I still get tapped out by new people, usually by "wrong" moves such as no-arm triangles.
Purples can feel insecure and stop the roll to "teach". Higher chance of assuming cluelessness on my end, like when a white belt screamed from an armbar I'd done 1000 times which wasn't even extended. Also when giving advice I lack credibility
I'm sure there's plenty of instructors who would promote you to blue belt but I don't quite understand why would you want that. I would rather be the best white belt in the world rather than the worst black belt.

Start date is approximate. Switched gyms many times: USC BJJ club, El Nino MMA, Google, etc. On and off training since 2011. 5 years total as of March 2020 if only counting weeks with 2 or more training sessions.
