JTip for other verifiers: Christian Derr is the guy in the background on the BB promotion pic, with Sheps old belt over his shoulder. You can also see both him and Shep (grey gi, now with BB) on the group pic with all the medals in the background.

"No doubt - Legit"
"Legit profile"
"After reviewing improved evidence, I can confidently verify Shep! In the process, I also checked on promoting instructor Christian Derr, who also has solid evidence (https://jeanjacquesmachado.com/students/belts/black/). I'd also like to give Shep all the best wishes in his ambitions to spread BJJ knowledge to the law enforcement community, increasing chances for everyone involved to remain injury free when physical contact is needed."
"Trained with Shep for several years and was at his black belt promotion."
"Documentation is good"
"Strong photo evidence and support from other verified people who know him."

"I don't know Shep, but there seems to be enough evidence to verify rank. :)"
