Bio
Started training in October 2008 under BB David Trader, under Leo Dalla. Received my blue, purple, and brown under Dave Trader before he passed away. Leo Dalla promoted me to black belt in November 2016 and I opened Dominion BJJ two months later.
I didn't register with IBJJF until May 2017, so even though I have been promoted to 3rd degree after 9 years, I can not officially be recognized by IBJJF or get my certificate until May 2026. You can see that im a certified 2nd degree black belt with IBJJF

J(Above, I mean Cj of course)
JBill found good evidence for you (see https://www.beltchecker.c[...]e=1#latest) - you just need to add it to your profile along with some pics from the early days of your journey, showing time in BJJ before BB and David Trader connection. Or at least links showing you being active as a competitor long before your BB (see comment from Zeke, who found some examples).
JNo evidence at all from being promoted by Leo Dalla (IBJJF is totally non transparent about promoting instructor and time of BB - the diploma only says they themselves have checked and approved some kind of evidence with BB no later than may 2017, not necessarily 2016). Also nothing at all from the earlier belts, showing time in BJJ before BB and connection to David Trader. Listing full lineage (not just a name) would also be good, even if well known instructor. "Excellent evidence for Nov 2016 BB from Leo Dalla (verifiable through https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205330613743767 ) and old photos along with research from Zeke confirms required time in BJJ before BB."
"legit profile congrats on the stripe"
"Bill is a well known and a respected instructor in the Northern Virginia area."
"Bill's belt progressions align with IBJJF guidelines, exceeding minimums: 1+ year white to blue, 2+ years blue to purple, 2+ years purple to brown, 1+ year brown to black, and 3+ years per degree up to third. IBJJF lists him as second degree black belt at Dominion BJJ, with third likely pending update as of this Jan-2026 review a day after Bill's promotion. Promoter Leonardo Dalla is a 6th degree black belt per BJJ Heroes. David Trader was a verified black belt. YouTube and Smoothcomp records show early competitions as beginner in 2009, consistent with white belt era. On the list ~ https://ibjjf.com/certified-black-belts"
"Well-documented profile, good TIG."
"Legit"
"Zekes research for the win! "
"Bill and I have known each other for 20+ years. Bill owns Dominion BJJ which and runs one of the strongest competition programs in VA. He handed me my first white belt when I walked in the door and promoted me to black on Jan 10th. "
"I don't know Bill, but there seems to be enough evidence here to verify rank. :)"
"Long time in the game!"
