Began training in the US Army which led me to get certified as a Level II Modern Army Combatives Program instructor. I had the privilege to then train Soldiers for several years. I continued to train MMA (and mostly no-gi). Once I got tired of getting punched in the face & checking kicks, I decided to stick to traditional gi BJJ. I became part owner of the school my family and I trained at & now have the blessing of starting my own school!
