Started training originally back in 2009 doing no gi at Joe Hurst Satelite school in Lexington, NC. Wasn't there for long, did some Muay Thai for a bit and had some folks who would come up and train BJJ with us on Saturdays from Joe Hurst Concord. Ended up at Team ROC Greensboro from 2010-2012 under Laban Propst. Back at that time, I was training around once per week average, (sometimes more, sometimes less) and only doing no-gi. Did a few tournaments with US grappling. Took 1st in my first tourney as novice. Then did a couple other tourneys and took 1st and second as Beginner. One tourney match is up on Youtube. Stopped doing BJJ in July 2012. Never so much as even rolled again until May 2022. Resumed training at the end of May 2022 at Warrior Life.
