I was first exposed to BJJ in 2010 while attending MMA classes led by Houston Stout at the local YMCA. I quit training as I left for college. After completing my undergraduate degree, I decided it was time to train again. I learned about Takedown Jiu-Jitsu from a former rugby teammate, Bradley Grimm. I officially put the GI on for the first time in November of 2017 at Takedown Jiujitsu. The ironic part of this is that my first BJJ tournament was in March of 2017 where I earned second place in AGF’s ultra heavy division.
