**Marcel Colley** My martial arts journey began with Judo, Taekwondo, and Hapkido before I committed to traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu in 1998, earning my black belt in 2005. When I first encountered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under Thomas Holtmann and Kazeka Muniz, we were part of Gracie Barra. At that time, there were very few black belts in Germany, and we had Kazeka here to help develop our Jiu-Jitsu skills. I experienced a humbling realization of what true, effective fighting systems are, which fueled my passion for BJJ and grappling. Over time, our team transitioned from Gracie Barra to form The Unit, and today, we proudly represent Caique Jiu-Jitsu Germany. Many of the people I trained with, like [Stefan Breiksch](http://krav-maga-alpha.de/bjj), [Antonio Russo](http://giant-bjj.com), and [Johannes Richter](http://ronin-bjj.de), have since earned their black belts and established their own teams in and around Hagen/Westfalen. They are all highly skilled and legitimate black belts, continuing to grow the BJJ community in Germany.
