"I verify Benjamin's black belt 3rd degree rank based on external evidence from academy websites, competition references, and lineage details. Edmilson Alves, a respected Mestre and black belt (with students attaining black belts under him as early as 2002 and references to his high-degree status like coral belt in Fadda lineage), had the authority to promote Benjamin to black belt in December 2022 at Chatsworth USA Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as well as prior promotions in 2019 and 2016. Earlier ranks align with family lineage under Todd Nathanson (a 3rd degree black belt under Jean Jacques Machado and established instructor at the Academy since at least 2008) and initial training from 1994. Benjamin's progression from black belt in 2016 to 3rd degree by late 2025 exceeds the IBJJF minimums for black belt degrees, supported by his 31 year history at the time of this review, photos, certificates, and association."
