Brown belt Current belt
August 4, 2024Montrea/Canada/Victory Training Center
Promoted byJason SaggoMy daytime job is a college physical education teacher. I'd been teaching Bjj as a college credited course since 2014 (at Marianopolis, then Dawson, then and current at Vanier College). Since 2017, I'd been the main grappling coach at Victory Training Center. There was no one to promote me at my club. I had kept training with 2 black belts (Andre Gears and Jason Saggo). They came to Victory to promote me to brown belt on Aug 4th, 2024.

Purple belt
April 10, 2017Montreal/Canada/Caio Terra Seminar
Promoted byAt this time (2017), I was coaching at Victory Training Center. The previous head coach (Patrick Beaudoin) had left to open his own club (BOA) which was affiliated with the Caio Terra Association. I maintained a Bjj connection with Patrick and kept training with him through privates. This is a photo from that club (BOA) I'm the red-headed blue belt in the center. I passed a content exam with Patrick for purple belt and was promoted during a Caio Terra Seminar in Montreal. There were multiple belt promotions that day.

Blue belt
September 15, 2014Montreal/Canada/Gracie Barra
Promoted byBruno FernandesAfter returning to Montreal from completing my master's in Ottawa (and training at OAMA), I began training at Gracie Barra. Within a couple months of joining, I was promoted to blue belt. I found a photo of a competition I did in 2015 (blue belt in vivid display).

White belt
February 14, 2009Montreal/Canada/H20 MMA
Trained for the first time in Montreal in 2009. Did a couple months at H20 one summer, then a couple months at 10th planet (both in Montreal) another summer. Training on and off during summers while my studies kept me occupied during the school year. Then I moved to Ottawa in 2013 for a year, trained at the Renzo Gracie affiliate school (OAMA). Competed in an ibjjf tournament, got second place: https://www.ibjjfdb.com/C[...]licResults
