"His blue belt promotion was done by one of my black belts Zach Nichols. Has a ton of grappling and wrestling experience."
Thankyou sir!

Considering Chance's claims that having started wrestling practice in 1995 equates putting on a white belt in BJJ and revenge down voting those who disagrees, you might want to have a talk. Including how it messes up site statistics for everyone.

"I began grappling at age 5, but I would not distort the time in grade or BJJ stats by claiming falsely that I gained my white belt 67 years ago. If you correct this distortion, then I will gladly change my vote."
Then you gained your white belt 67 years ago. Time grappling is still time grappling. I donât have a distortion I have recorded an accurate timeline of my training history.

Then you clearly don't understand the difference between Brazillian JiuJitsu and wrestling. I was a judo white belt 67 years ago, but not a BJJ white belt. If you remain intractible, then I suspect you will continue to recieve more down votes.

Mark youâre just mad because I have evidence of you saying that if youâre not training in a Gi then youâre not training in Bjj

If you are blind folded and someone (also without a gi) does an americana armlock, would you know if it is judo, BJJ, catch wrestling, luta livre or krav maga? Wow! Mind blown! But it's still not meaningful you started training all mentioned martial arts at once the first time you did an americana armlock. Just as little as I can say I started training karate, muay thai and tae kwon do the first time I did a kick in the womb.

"From what I can see, it's simply not true that you put on a BJJ white belt in 1995 and have had more years on the BJJ mat than 99% of all Beltchecker members, so a down vote from me."
Iâve been training in wrestling and grappling since 1995, as stated. I received a blue belt 2 stripe from my coach after training under him. He told me due to my years I would be out into black belt division. He graded me based on where I was at after 3 months. Iâve been grappling longer than most and because the sport is a hybrid of wrestling and grappling you say it doesent deserve the respect?

I say a duck is a duck and should be called a duck. If you show me an eagle, I will not call it a duck. I will call it an eagle. That doesn't mean I don't think an eagle deserves as much respect as a duck. It just means I'm quite sure an eagle is not the same as a duck and a duck is not the same as an eagle, even if they have similarities and they both fly much better than I do.

"Blue belt legit. Chance explains that his claimed white belt start date is actually his wrestling start date. Would love to change to a validation if your white belt start date gets corrected to the date you started as a BJJ white belt!"
I stated the date I started grappling. If I replaced the word wrestling with grappling nothing would be questioned. This proves the stigma towards wrestling expierence in the Bjj community

"Your wrestling start date as a 6 year old is not your BJJ start date. Entering it as your BJJ white belt date skews Beltcheckerâs âLongest training careerâ statistics. Johanâs dispute is about that distinction. Framing it as disrespect toward wrestling misrepresents Johan's objection. I am not disputing your grappling ability or your claim that you are worthy of the black belt division, only that a wrestling start date is not the same as a BJJ start date. I encourage you to ask Jay Pages for his perspective before leaving a retaliatory review on my profile like the one you left on Johanâs. If you correct your white belt date to when you actually began training BJJ, I will happily change my dispute to a validation, and I suspect Johan will too."
I appreciate your feedback but Iâm not changing anything. I began grappling at 6 which is when I started training. This is normal in my family and Russian culture. I never claimed myself as a Black Belt. Bjj is grappling wrestling is grappling. I listed my true start dates. Due to the lack of respect towards wrestling Bjj first artists disrespect that huge foundation. This is happening now. Iâm more than certain there are plenty of black belts that point to and draw from their wrestling experience. And list their wrestling date as their white belt date. Just because there is a stigma against wrestling doesent mean that my years and my experience arenât of value

this is when to list your bjj start date, not your grappling start date. I also started wrestling before bjj, but I don't list my white belt date as my wrestling start date. There's no stigma against wrestling that I know of in BJJ; we embrace it, and respect wrestlers, and encourage cross training with wrestlers. I have many former wrestlers in my club who are starting BJJ at 40 years old. They don't list their start date as back in high school or middle school when they started wrestling as kids. Please respect the culture of this website.

Stigma against wrestling? Legends like Rolls Gracie cross trained heavily, so think again.

"I am not questioning your legitimacy as a grappler, just that a wrestling start date is not what the white belt field on belt checker is meant to indicate."
Many other blackbelts list their time as a wrestler as their start time. Nothing is being skewed. As well wrestling is a form of white belt as seen when collegiate wrestlers are instantly out into blue belt divisions when they compete despite having no âwhite beltâ history. This negativity towards that experience is reflected in your review. Iâm not claiming to be a black belt, just what I was people given as seen in my gallery
