January 1, 1995Carley Gracie Academy in San Francisco
Started training under Carley Gracie in San Francisco while a student at Stanford Law School. I did not receive any promotions from Carley, but I did train with those who are now black belts, including MMA referee Josh Rosenthal. Once I became a lawyer, I got so busy that lawyering took up all my time and I stopped training for about a dozen years.
