Today I am feeling OLD between lifting hard Saturday and an hour and a half of rolling / MMA last night I don’t think any part of my body doesn’t hurt.. Anybody else really feeling it coming back

Takes a lifetime to build and a couple months to go away.. It's funny how time off of an activity really hits you as I had stayed active doing Bodyweight exercises but it just isn't the same..

Not used to being the little guy in pictures at 220..

My first day back will be Thursday (possibly next Tuesday depending on work). I don't plan on rolling for at least a week in, although I may be tempted to do some very focused positional sparring or defensive posture work.

P.S.: Those are some big boys!

I said I was going to go easy... Lasted about 5 minutes then I was going live rounds grappling than MMA ... Moderation is not my strong suit always seem to go full retard..

Yes we had 3 guys over 300 lbs in the room and all have several fights so I couldn't help myself when the rounds started had to glove up

Our first class back will be open mat on Saturday.
I'm predicting 2/3 rounds before everyone is completely gassed! haha

Our gym has had an open mat a couple days a week for the past couple weeks but I haven't been able to make it. Hopefully Thursday.

Usually im 170ish, but now im 205, my guys built a mini dojo and we're rolling again as a crew, but man. They've been working out and running, while I've been binging hulu and cooking for myself everyday lol the difference is incredible when the guy you Usually have to take it easy on is taking your back and always ontop! We'll get back to our old selves again! Its just going to take more time and training OSS

I'm envious. Gyms can be open here, as long as they have a state-approved safety plan in place, but social distancing still applies, meaning it's all conditioning and no actual rolling.

We are dead in the water till June 30th. Even then it will be a soft opening I believe. (solo drills only)
That's if we are lucky.

Luckily I train at home with my sons. Just enough to keep me moving. Oh well I'll wait it out.

did yall have to come up with a plan to get back into operation? our state is rolling out in phases but we don't really fit into a category. but if we state we are a self defense school we can possible get into operation early than stating martial arts

I came back from an almost 3 year layoff from cancer at 52... It sucked but was actually amazing how fast things came back... I can remember sitting in a car outside of a school my first time back almost in tears at how much I sucked and swearing I was never training again.. The funny thing I tapped everyone i rolled with but though I was going to die fro exhaustion after 4 5 minute rolls

Yeah, still got no idea when things will open back up in the UK. Apparently hairdressers might be opening up again soon, that's at least close contact. Hopefully tattooists soon as well, then I can at least get some new ink. ;)

On the plus side, I've been able to work on my grilled chicken guard a whole bunch, about to teach my regular Monday class on that. Hopefully I'll have a much improved guard retention once I'm back on the mat, but we'll see (solo drilling can only do so much, after all).

Yeah, July 1 marks Delaware's entrance into Phase 3, which hopefully allows for contact sparring.
