What is is that you look for in your rashguard? I have always been a fan of simplicity and/or having meaning behind it (club merch, foundations etc)

And what are your most absurd rashguard purchases, know there are some crazy out there haha

I've always been a fan of fun designs or weird. I have some Lucky Charms spats and rashguards from Australia, and a ton of stuff from Supernatural Survival Gear. I like weird shit.

Personally I have only designed one rashguard, for a jiujitsu camp some years ago, that Elvira is wearing here. It happens to also be my favorite to train in at the moment (Scramble makes great gear, perfect fit & fabric thickness/feel for me).

When it comes to more novelty style designs, I couldn't help getting all the Tatami Sega rashguards. :D

Tatami makes great stuff. Harder to come by in the States but the Altered Beast rashguard - hell, all of them are awesome

I like just solid colors. Way more bad-ass than the "bad-ass" rashguards everybody loves these days. That being said, I do have my own personal favorite bad-ass rashies as well.

Precisely because most designs try to be ”bad-ass” I’m happy to also own this classic (by a certain fellow member of this site). Just wore it for the Pride Week we had here a while ago. :)

The Sega ones also have enough of a silly factor to make em wearable.

My goal for 2021 is to do away with rashguards entirely and bring the Soviet wrestling coach look back to the mats. Plain tshirts tucked into sweat pants only.

I grew up in the Burmese arts.. My grandfather was in Burma prior to and during WW2 and my grandmother was Chinghpaw ( Ethic Group in the Kachin State) her father (great grandfather) was a master.. I went to Burma and fought during the late 70's early 80's..

This is an article from the Myanmar Times 2 years ago kind of a where are they now piece and talking about me spreading the art for modern sport competition

I want the most ridiculous, colourful designs possible, but yeah, that won't surprise anybody who has seen my nogi gear. I think my favourite so far are my rainbow of squirrel spats.

There's a lot more where that came from. As with most of my favourite rashguard/spats, it was designed by Sabine. ;)

I like silly stuff that’s not too serious. That and foundations make up for all my rashies I think. I hate agressive stuff like let’s say the NAGA gear

Was looking for a Saku l/s but seems they are discontinued :( I like abstract graphic/type logos instead of the cartoony figures, cos, you know, I'm middle aged :)

You mean Scramble x Sakuraba stuff?

I think they just recently announced that they have a new line coming up soon.

Saku had his own sales website for a while but that disappeared and used a weird new Saku logo, and the Scramble version is sold out/discontinued :(

Ah ok. Well I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that more Scramble x Saku gear is in the works.

How can you not love the guy :D :D
His Instagram is one of my favorites.

New Saku gear coming very soon from Scramble!

Should be available at his webshop too, if you rather get it from Japan.

Yeah, you've got the opposite taste to me. I was super disappointed that Scramble moved to a lot of typeface stuff some years back, rather than the figurative designs they used to do. I really dislike abstract stuff (same goes for art in general). ;)

Doesn't matter now, as I came up with the much better idea of "well, I'll just commission somebody to design rashguards/spats for me", which has resulted in all the awesomeness Sabine has designed for my club. :D

What's he up to nowadays? I guess I should follow his IG :D
Running Quintet, and he's still wrestling as a Pro-wrestler for New Japan every once in a while. He also puts out instructional every once in a while that makes me have empathy for his uke. ;)

Yay, I have the Skadi too! Mainly because she's the closest in the Norse pantheon to Artemis, so a good fit for Artemis BJJ. ;)

But yeah, since then I just have Sabine design me specific Artemis BJJ rashguards, with Artemis on them doing various submissions. So far, bow and arrow choke (naturally) and then a north south kimura (as that's my fave sub). I also commissioned patch versions. :D

They do have an Artemis rashguard now, too. But having your own designs made is awesome! I love the squirrels.

(My one gripe with training at a GB is the uniforms. And I think whoever runs GBWear must not like money very much, because the selection is always so limited and the women's stuff sized way too small.)

Yeah, I wasn't keen on their take on Artemis. They made her too much of a supermodel, when she's supposed to be this tough hunter woman.

I'm also not a fan of GB enforcing uniforms (as you can tell, I'm a big fan of individuality ;) ), but to each their own.
