I find something very zen about looking at well worn Jiu jitsu belts. I see a lot of ragged black belts but what about your old white, blue, purple, and browns?
Here is my recently retired white belt.

Lost my white (it had turned ugly grey anyway) and my coach used my blue to promote someone. :) (Also lost my original blue while biking in Copenhagen... got sentimental for nearly a minute.)

Those display boxes like Mr. Moynihan’s are pretty cool though, if one has a place for it.

Hoping to get a black some day that will fall apart gracefully while staying in one piece. Awesome to see those where you can’t be sure if it’s a white or a black.

Pro tip: wash your belt often and it will wear out way faster! :)

Here's a pic from back in the day.
Brown belt disintegrated the most, because I'd already worn the f*ck out of it in japanese jiu jitsu.

I always borrowed my white belt to new students and if they joined our training group, they bought their own one. I was always lucky to get it back.
The blue one I wore for more than 4 years.

Never owned a white belt because my first school only trained nogi. Got this one free with a gi lol. Blue got its wear and tear but nothing like purple. This purple belt was given to me by my Brother-in-Law who is a black belt. This was his old purple so it had seen its fair share already and then I had the pleasure of wearing it for 6 long years before getting my brown belt about a month ago. Hoping to one day have a display for my belt.

Ps. Green stripe on the opposite end of my blue belt was to signify a green belt in Judo. At the time my professor (a black belt in both arts) would test us for Judo as well and signify our rank on our BJJ belt. This didn’t last forever but is a cool reminder for sure.

Yeah Vince! It was a great experience for me training in Kuala Lumpur at your gym in 2015 and beeing there at your black belt promotion. Good memories!

Whoa, that's gnarly!!
Every time I went somewhere people would ask if it was a brown belt lol

And the refs at tournaments would just mess with me

That guy got so distracted he accidently raised the other guys hand for a moment when I won lol

I don't have old belts but I do have a belt display case that I'm quite proud of (Ikea Kasseby box).

I wear an A2 belt normally. The white belt in it is the A4 I bought for when I was pregnant.

I primarily train nogi now. But did most of my gi training as white and blue belt.

the worn looking brown belt I am wearing here in my promotion pic was handed down to me from one of my coaches. He was a brown belt for a very very long time, he was wearing this belt when I started jiu jitsu, and it was an honour to receive it since I learned so much from him especially how to play jiu jitsu as a smaller practitioner.

Since some of you are also showing your storage or display, I made simple cabinets with my sons for their belts.
The lower 5 belts are their Jing Wu wing chun belts. They are both finished with that and are now junior black belts

I really like how you did that. I might have to fix mine up like that someday.
