Once the pandemic gets under control, I fancy stopping by Dubai on my way to Europe from Japan.
Curious about hearing the experiences and recommendations of fellow BJJ practionners who've lived or trained in the UAE!
cheers,
gerald

My friend Yasmin Tahira (first Dutch female BJJ black belt) is based there & runs a women's programme.
My friend Akil Ali lived & trained in Qatar for years.
BJJ is taught in schools there. Scene is huge.

I have my tickets, only staying two nights in Dubai, but I'll try to visit a gym or two!
If by any chance anybody on this site will be in Dubai March 10/11, let me know ^^
specific gym recommendations or intros welcome too
cheers,
gerald

I did a stop by in Dubai on way home back in 2019. I recommend Atos dubai. https://www.entropyjiujitsu.com/
Mixture of grades, nationalities etc. Classes were in English and the coach was lovely. A really chilled vibe. It also was a mixed gender class which for me was obviously important.
