Nice! Where did you order them from Vince?
I ordered a custom belt from killer bee as a gift for my coach, I shopped around and shipping to Australia from some of the suppliers I looked at was equal to or more than the cost of the belt!

Mine are made by kataaro usa
One is their IBJJF LEGAL DELUXE JUJITSU BELT and the other is their JUJITSU GRAPPLING WEAVE BELT.
The grappling weave belt is the best belt I have ever worn.

I'll probably get one fixed up when I get my black belt. My Japanese JuJitsu instructor had one made for me when I got my black belt under him.

They are hand made by a guy in S.Korea. You find him on Etsy under BERSERKERgi

I get custom belts for all my students, though only custom in that they have an Artemis BJJ patch on them. About £7 a belt from Valor when you buy in bulk, IIRC, cheaper for kids belts.

I have a few Kataaros and a Kanji belt. All custom made and gifted to me except for one that I bought years ago.
My other belts were all the usual brands no custom about them.
I really only have my white brown and black belts now. My blue belt got destroyed when one of my students and me tied it over a beam to hold a heavy bag in place.
When we had to take the bag down because we were going to finish my basement my blue belt would not untie for the life of us. So we had to cut it to get it down. Pissed me off. My purple went around the waist of my very good friend Will Terado (now with Pacific Top Team) when he got promoted to purple back in 2005. I never got it back from him as it would be in poor taste to ask for it back. I ended up buying a purple and blue so I could eventually have a display case. That hasn't happened yet. I always make a plan to do something like that and end up not doing it. Lol I also have some shelving to put up in my cold cellar but who knows when that will happen.

I have two custom belts. One is my original belt that I received when I was promoted to black belt. I just had my name put on it. This is my regular belt I wear to class and open mats. My other belt I wear for promotions and such.

My other belts. I use the Kanji belt to train at home. The one on the right is my oldest belt but I haven't worn it for at least 5 years.

Is the grapple weave the same as the gi weave belts? I had one from Killer Bee but it was too long for my liking.
I like the feel of those belts

I had to do the same, but the craftsmanship is amazing and well worth the cost.

Anybody have recommendations for custom belts within the EU?

These would make great gifts but I don't want to be taxed to oblivion with import duties.

Those are real nice looking Vince!
I didn't get one for myself from this guy. I particularly like the fact that he does the name embroidery first then stitches the belt so that the reverse side of the name doesn't show on the other side. You can only get this if the belt is made from scratch. He gives you a choice of a softer/easy tie or a stiffer/rigid belt core also at the design stage.

When I was last in Tokyo I bought one from Isami but later found out I chose one that is a little on the narrower end of the spectrum - like a 9 row wide or something. I'm used to a 11-13 row belt. This will be ready for a hand-me down one day.

Valor stuff is awesome. I have many gi's and a couple belts from Valor (judo and bjj). Plus the owner is a good dude and very helpful!

When I get my next level, up, I'm gonna add a rainbow potato patch on my belt. I'm a rainbow belt in potato jiu-jitsu. Got the paperwork to prove it too.
