Sadly, I don't. BJJ is the only thing that keeps me fit, I get bored with any other form of exercise. So without BJJ, I just get fatter.

I exercise almost everyday: bwe circuits, kettlebells, running, heavybag....and Long walks with my wife

Samesies.
First covid lockdown (not a full lockdown in Finland but BJJ gyms closed & I was being very careful) was horrible. Fitness took a serious hit. For me it would be just weightlifting, cardio can die. :) (And it's actually relatively easy to get back unless you get fat.) But I had hard time motivating myself for home bodyweight exercises.
I like to cross-country ski and go for longer backpacking hikes in the nature, but the first is very weather dependent and the latter takes some planning & a few days.
For a comp prep I do all kinds of terrible things, like hill sprints, but would never imagine suffering like that without a goal like a big competition.

I started working with a trainer right before Covid. during lockdowns we moved to video sessions over whatsapp / zoom. He sets up a program with the equipment that I have in the basement. Kettlebells, barbells, bench, etc. Emphasis is on HIIT. After lock downs, we are back in his microgym on his equipment.
We also program things when I'm out of town. If you have a kettlebell and wifi, good to go over video.

I don't and accept that I'm going to be rolling like a wheezing puddle of sludge for a week or two when I come back.

I have found this makes a huge difference when it comes to (non-BJJ) training motivation. I don't work with a personal trainer, but I have a good strength coach who does my programming. Program changes every 3 weeks, depending on what goals we have set up.
Makes a difference in results too, if the person knows what they are doing. Highly recommended, go hire a coach! :)

Yep, I went to a personal trainer for a few years right up until the lockdown, as income drop meant I couldn't afford them. They were great: meant I didn't have to worry about motivation because I HAD to go due to paying, plus I could be confident I wasn't fucking myself up with poor form or whatever.
But I'll hopefully be able to go back once we can train normally again and my BJJ club finances properly recover. :D

I do *something* every day. Depending on my mood & how my body feels it can be:
* bodyweight strength training (super slow method)
* functional isometrics (time under tension method)
* super basic kettlebells (swings, high pull, long cycle, squat)
* slow jogging (niko niko method)
* super basic vinyasa yoga.
* and if I'm lucky, sometimes my wife & I get on the mat and actually do some jiu jitsu. She's gotten a bit too good now, so i have to resort to wristlocks to tame her.

I e-bike to work (19 kilometres one way) and I swing kettlebells around, which keeps me way more entertained than standard weightlifting plus my back is a bit too messy to load squats and deadlift as much as I would like. And some light exercise at home when waking up.

Sounds good!
I think consistency is key. time under tension is great!
I moved to more bwe exercises or lifting with not so heavy weights (but time under tension), because I got joint problems from heavy lifting. I n my opinion that’s more sustainable for me.

Just finished training with my two boys. Nothing fills my heart with more joy than sharing the mat with these two goobers.
I wish they continue long after I am gone.
