That's also a pretty crowded market. Which I've largely ignored so far, as I can get everything I want out of spreadsheets, for free. It will take a lot to convince me to do something not free. ;)

Thanks everyone for the responses.

There are some solutions out there such as https://www.maonrails.com/ but they tend to be a bit pricey for smaller gyms or gyms in other countries, who generally just use spreadsheets or paper like you guys pointed out. I think there might be a market for those.

Also I'm not sure how there would be privacy issue if all you're tracking is attendance?

Thanks for those who filled up the survey, it's much appreciated.

We use DojoExpert. Attendance checking needs to be tied to billing/invoice/reminders system at least.

It helps to verify the students attendance. However, I have seem many guys checking up and not training at all. Lazy students will find a way to trick the software.
Agreed!

And I hope all is well with you Rubens.

As a former systems and data architect I can tell you that all the systems we have used or looked at, including the big boys like Zenplanner, Mindbody and Kicksite are terrible. Zenplanner is probably the overall best from a data management perspective, but they a ColdFusion product which has serious security issues and browser usability issues. They also have been blacklisted for spam and as a result most of our students never received our notifications through the system.

The functional requirements used to build these systems used a static model for the sales process. Our business model and business process is not like the traditional martial arts marketing BS that is out there and none of these systems are built to allow us to insert our own process.

Beltchecker does this as well, for free :)
Just curious: How many schools are currently actively using Beltchecker for this?

I use it for my adult classes.
Myself or one of the other coaches checks everyone in at the end of class. Takes about a minute.

Thanks for all the answers, seems that the consensus is that there are already a lot of systems that handle this in one way or the other.

Was not aware that Beltchecker does this already, Can somebody point me to this feature or is it an Admin only thing?

I think you have to be an admin for your registered gym to access all the features.

I know the guy who created the BJJLink app. It has geofencing so it doesn’t let you check in unless you’re close to the school. I know a few places using it.
