Black belt 2nd degree
June 2, 2021Sydney, Australia
Promoted bySteve MaxwellDuring email correspondence, Steve Maxwell has promoted me to the rank of 2nd degree black belt due to the fact that I am active teaching, am overdue time wise and he is unsure when he will be able to travel and get back out to Australia to promote me in person.

Blue belt
September 7, 2000Porto Alegre, Brazil, Academia Sul Jiu Jitsu
Promoted byMario SperryTogether withWalter MattosI am not 100% sure of the date even down to the month but I believe it was around September 2000 that I was promoted to blue belt at Academia Sul Jiu Jitsu. I was surrounded by friends and future legends Fernando Paradeda, Fabiano Capoani, Luis Brito amongst others. Good times and way before social media, close to 20 years ago!

"Definitely Legit"

"Good evidence (BB promotion pic doesn't show much face of instructor, but there are many other pics which do). Good lineage, which I would also recommend adding to your profile (https://www.bjjheroes.com/bjj-fighters/michelle-nicolini , got her BB in 2006 according to other sources)."
"Legit profile"
"Nicely documented profile with photo evidence"
"I verify Felipe's black belt 3rd degree rank based on external evidence from multiple academy websites (e.g., Black Knight Jiu Jitsu, Levels Jiu-Jitsu Club, Armidale BJJ) and BJJ community sources. Michelle Nicolini, a highly decorated 3rd-4th degree black belt (multiple-time IBJJF World and ADCC champion under Robert Drysdale), has full authority as his instructor to award degrees. Felipe's 3rd degree promotion on April 23, 2024, follows his 2nd degree in June 2021 (~3 years), aligning with IBJJF minimums (typically 3 years per degree at black belt). His training history since 1998-2000 (27+ years), Jiu Jitsu Kingdom academy leadership in Sydney, early Instagram handle @tjenbjjcoach, student black belts under him, and extensive gallery photos with coaches like Michelle Nicolini and Steve Maxwell (known to me) support legitimacy."
"Train together with John Will and at many seminars.. a class act and a gentlemen always teaching ,training promoting BJJ & always looking to improve himself and others "
"Felipe is a great black belt and coach to some of my childhood friends."
"My coach. And he knows everything about bjj :) "
