Thank you!! Very happy that people like and support it. This idea has been brewing in my head for years, started to really materialize maybe 6 months ago and the last 2.5 months, I have been working day and night on coding it. Doing my best to keep up with all the requests and optimizations every day here! :)

You have done a stellar job. The BJJ scene needs stuff like this. No Politics and keep the art legit - like the whole Globetrotter movement.

I really enjoy creeping profiles. :)
It's neat to see how long people sped at various belt colours. Plus I get to learn a little more about people that I have met at camp but not had a lot of time to talk to.

This is a great project. Hope it makes a positive impact on the community and be the resource for non-BJJ people looking for legitimate (?) practitioners, perhaps also serve as a rolodex for travelling BJJers looking for a friendly place to visit.

I remember way back in the day one of Ralph's black belts tried to do this and, I think, it got a little too much for him. Wish I remembered his name.

Wutang, his name was Don Geddis, and he maintained bjj.org from 1996 for almost two decades.

We should get him to register here and I’ll make an honorary award on his profile :D

There are a few black belts and other belts from the United States that appear to have been verified already.

The site appears to have been seeded with BJJ Globetrotters black belts from across the globe, but yes, heavily from Europe.

And, if I had to guess, the next power node group that will likely arise may be Renzo lineages.

We shall see...

It is not created by Globetrotters. It is created by me personally. I happen to also have founded BJJ Globetrotters. But the site has nothing to do with Globetrotters per se. Yes, the initial group of my friends who were beta testing it, most of the knew each other through the Globetrotters camps. Which is actually good, because it made it much easier to get the initial votes going. Would have been very difficult with a group of people who did not know each other that well :)

But just want to make it clear, that this site is not a "Globetrotters project".

Give it a week or even just a few days, and the initial users will have drowned in all the new ones.

I have pre-verified people I know and trust really well, and I happen to have a lot of friends in Europe, so almost correct :)

I think the concept of this project and site is great idea. I am certified as a Black Belt through IBJJF, but it was expensive to do it and of course can be political. I don't really know many people yet on this site but I think project will help expand our circle to include people from all of the world. The brotherhood of Jiu Jitsu what got me hooked on this art. Keep up the great work.

It will be interesting to see if this trickles down to the hobbyist level affiliate academies. I am likely the only person from my academy that will register for a few months. It will take my coach even longer I’m sure to adapt to it. It’s a super interesting project and I really want to see how it grows organically. The site statistics for belt level have been very insightful. Is there any way you could split the count to show verified/unverified numbers? Just asking o of curiousity. It will have no impact either way, just curious to watch how it grows.

It's like Facebook for BJJ, I dig it. Some cool profiles so far, I just have to learn how to navigate the site. Is there a way to just see active members, or active members by belt rank or location? I have no idea how to see if I have any friends here yet.

Not sure if its just my laptop but I only get the search box at the top of page when using Windows but when I use my smart phone I get a list of search boxes.
Search by : Academy, Affiliation, Country ect …
I find it much easier to find people using the search on my mobile

Abo, on desktop/windows, just start a search, then you will get all the search options too.
