What do you use to facilitate communication between members of your club? Whatsapp, messenger, something else?

We've tried with chat groups on Whatsapp and messenger but unless you follow it every day, things kind of drown. Facebook groups are difficult as many people our age are not really using it any more (average for our club is probably 40-45 years).

I've built an app for managing communication at the BJJ Globetrotters camps and I expanded it to also work for my club. It's a bit hard to get everyone to move over and there's some double-posting on messenger and the app now, but that was the same for camps when we moved away from Facebook groups. Just had to ultimately pull the plug on them. It's free and fully featured for up to 50 members if you want to try it for your club or training group: https://matspace.app (might have to open it in a browser to be able to install it on your phone, it's a web app)

We found sms messaging from kicksite to be the easiest way for mass communication, but it really isn't that 2 way communication that you are speaking about. Our FB private group used to thrive but we killed it about a year ago due to it not being used...

We have a whatsapp group, facebook group and instagram group.
Its a pain in the ass because everyone is not on the same platform so we use all three. Fun times

Our gym uses Zen Planner. It seems to work well. Manages attendance and sends out email notifications to members. My only complaint is that it doesn't work with some emails. Mine for example. I've had the same hotmail address for 25 years and ZP will not send to a hotmail account. We also use the Group Me ap and I try to stay up to date on there.

We mostly just post crap on Facebook and Instagram, but this is pretty much a one-way conversation.

We use text/Instagram to communicate with instructors about class schedule, but this only happens occasionally.

I think we're very under-communicative compared to most groups.

We have a WhatsApp group that is pretty effective.

Social media is a tough one because not everyone is down with the youth.

Nice, app, I thought about doing something similar but with billing... are you considering adding billing features?

No, I think that would be outside of the scope of what I wanted to build. Not trying to compete with membership software. Just wanted to build a better communication platform that was not dependent on everyone being on the same social media platform or have a certain device.

It's fully live now on https://matspace.app now by the way. Around 75 clubs signed up, so that's pretty exciting 🙂 (Completely free up to 50 members btw if you wanna give it a go)
