I'm guessing nobody is taking their students, which are all probably paying customers. Usually if people change gyms there's a valid reason.

Saw this on an bjjee article. Was wondering. In the letter she calls someone she promoted to BB a Fake BB. Would beltchecker recognize the belt als legit even tho the Blackbelt giving out the belt „demotes“ the person/ doesnt verify it anymore? In this case it‘s a bit obvious, but what if its not a public shitshow like this? Same question with „revenge voting“ that seems to happen sometimes?
It's a shared responsibility between teacher and student, both not to affiliate with anyone with values too far from your own, indreasing the risk of a fall out. And to document promotions, by way of diplomas, photos etc. If your teacher haven't helped you a bit in giving you evidence of your promotion and you haven't made sure to get it either, in combination with a fall out, where your teacher totally don't recognize you anymore, I'd say you don't have very good chances of getting verified and would perhaps do best to get the evidence from another instructor, although at a later date, if the goal is to have a widely recognized belt.
On the other hand, if there IS evidence of the promotion and the teacher totally denies it without any apparent justification, that really reflects bad on the teacher and I hope the student would still get verified.
Revenge voting is more or less a free for all on Beltchecker, as there really seems to be no one daring to help nullify the revenge voters down to under verification status, perhaps as it would put them at risk of being revenge voted on themselves. On the other hand, I don't think anyone has been revenge voted below their verified status either. I would guess I'm the most revenge voted member here, but still have 5000+ vote points.

This reminds me of a note a handyman working at my neighbor's house left me simply because I asked him a question. It looks like a tantrum written by a child.
So much to unpack. Is the letter real? If so, would the author claim it after it blew up in their face? If not, who wrote it and why? In either case, why did you drop out of school in 2nd grade before learning basic English? Or would you write it poorly on purpose to cover your tracks? Real or not, it does seem like a very Gracie thing to do.
Assuming it's real:
If your school has that many traitors you need to be worrying about your school instead of the other one.
A school doesn't own it's students. This is fallacy #1 in the cult/McDojo playbook. A student can't be "taken" by another school unless the other school chases them down an alley with a van and grabs them, but that's a criminal matter not a civil matter. A law suit really wouldn't be appropriate.
Every martial artist's job is to find the school that is the best fit for them and go train there. A school's job is to make sure they are the best option for all of their students.

Actually I have not seen much revenge voting at all... I have only really seen one person complaining about Revenge voting yet he is very quick to do it himself.. 2 wrongs don't make the second wrong correct..

Please point out where I have ever revenge voted based on some ones honest vote and explicit (and universal) voting criteria that has to do with BJJ and actual evidence of the claimed degree. Ie not a vote against someone who has cast malicious down votes with completely obvious fake motivations, while still pretending it's about BJJ and evidence, and where the real motivation is clearly that they or someone they knew had been down voted because of very explicitly explained lack of evidence on their profile.

Please point out where I have ever revenge voted based on some ones honest vote and explicit (and universal) voting criteria that has to do with BJJ and actual evidence of the claimed degree. Ie not a vote against someone who has cast malicious down votes with completely obvious fake motivations, while still pretending it's about BJJ and evidence, and where the real motivation is clearly that they or someone they knew had been down voted because of very explicitly explained lack of evidence on their profile.
You REVENGE voted the people that you "felt" revenge voted you.. Your sole purpose for those votes were because you did no like of agree with their vote negative vote for you.. Their was a post about it where you tried to rally people to your side.
How could the my post be a revenge vote I have had zero interaction with him. My vote acknowledges what I found factual he has a black belt that was awarded to him and he is a sex offender just a statement of fact.

For someone so upset with "trying to rally people", you have been very silent when certain high profile revenge voters have attempted just that.
As you must also have read in the thread you're referring to, I have very clearly stated (before as well) that I will down vote revenge voters targeting other members as well, even those revenge voters I myself have hade zero interaction with. Same for everyone, no matter the target of their revenge voting. Just as I imagine you down vote convicted sex offenders, no matter the target of their offenses.

I am not at all upset with your rallying people at all. I actually love this stuff. WE are a website with very little guidance and for the most part it is a popularity and name recognition thing. I admire your dedication to your personal objectives with Beltchecker I just don't agree with them.
