So Heidelcamp is also in doubt again?
Things are still pretty normal in Baden-Württemberg at the moment (the 2020 approximation of normal anyway). Stuttgart is getting hit hard enough with new cases at the moment, but Heidelberg itself is by all accounts doing well. Fingers crossed camp goes ahead as planned.

Our gym closed with the shutdowns in March and re-opened June 8th (Illinois, USA). Right now I'd say we're close to pre-pandemic levels of attendance. Coach had combined the kids' classes in June due to low attendance. He's finally about to split them by age again and offer advanced classes plus the women's program. Nogi is still off the table.
We haven't had any COVID outbreaks yet. Knock on wood, I guess.

Tighter restrictions gonna be announced in Finland on Thursday regarding, among other things, "adults' hobbies" and the number of people that can get together. For fuck's sake... almost for sure meaning training combat sports is going bust, again. Hopefully we can carry on in smaller groups, but this still sucks. A lot of the gyms are financially on the brink.
We have had zero cases of the virus spreading in a gym in Finland as far as I know during all this time.

Ontario Canada here, Looks and sounds like we are going to get shutdown soon for the upcoming "second wave".
The Premier seems to be on the fence so far, that is a good thing because it means we can continue for now.

Our government was telling athletes and artists to learn to code. You can imagine how that went down...

What the hell? Are they just telling People to give up on sport and culture altogether?
Basically yes. It's also a double whammy because the financial support is now only for businesses that have been forced to close. But those are quite rare, it's more that everyone is operating on reduced capacity. Do you know any restaurants / bars / gyms that would be profitable operating at a third of their capacity? I don't.

That's good to hear. I'm concerned that it's going to be difficult for me to get there from the UK, as from what I understand you have to quarantine on arrival if you arrive from certain areas of the UK currently (e.g., North West). South West UK isn't too bad on coronavirus cases by comparison, but depends on where I'd need to go through in order to reach Germany.
One of my students was planning to drive, so we'll have to see if there is a viable route. If not, then I can just bump tickets etc to next year, but I'd be very sad to miss out on Heidelcamp: I've been to all of them up until this year.

2 week lockdown extension here again
Sorry to hear Vince. Looks like they are contemplating it here again as well.
There is talk of a third lockdown in Dec as well. This is messed up. I'd rather take my chances with the virus.
Let the chips fall where they may.

Full lockdown here have to close a gym , lost job as a instructor in other gym , members are gone , mostly kids hold up a gym but parents sign them off. So no more gym for me In Ireland . But still stay positive in half year I'm moving to Nederland ! So if someone need some black belt to hire I'm actually looking 4 a job

Oh no. Tough times. I'm sure you will find a way to make it work, wherever you end up in. Good attitude.
Netherlands peeps take note: Mario is a top bloke & a superb instructor! Better snatch him before your rival gym does. :)

Sorry to hear about those of you having to go back on lock down. We opened back up mid-June and our adult class attendance is still low. The kids classes aren't back to pre-COVID numbers, but they're increasing.

Here in the Czech Republic, we are in a full lockdown for a while. No gyms open for the last 2 weeks and will stay like that for a while.
Luckily on Monday, I am on my way to Brasil for 3 weeks :D the withdrawal symptoms are getting unbearable.

Yeah, my class sizes are lower, but then I now have to have a maximum due to both social distancing and ventilation. More than 11 people (including the instructor) and the risk of people getting closer than 2 metres would be too high.
Still, I can just put more classes on the timetable to make it up. I've been able to steadily increase since September, most importantly restarting the women's class (one of the key reasons I founded my club in the first place was to bring more women into the sport, there's still a huge gender imbalance towards men. Unlikely to ever be 50/50 across the whole of BJJ, but I'm aiming for that at my small club at least. We've been at 30/70 before, so I remain hopeful).

So today our government in Germany announced the second lockdown: we are not allowed to train till end of November.
Pubs and Restaurants are closed too.

I am anticipating a second lockdown will happen in my area (Bristol, so South West England) at some point, it's already effectively happening elsewhere in the UK (Wales - just a few miles away from me - is fully locked down, Northern England effectively is, can't remember if Scotland is too, but Giles would know if he sees this). So hopefully with enough new people and getting everybody used to drilling with housemates or a training dummy, it's something we could continue over Zoom.
That sort of worked during the first lockdown, but small class sizes. As these drilling classes in person have been well attended, that bodes well, but we'll see.

In Delaware, we're still in in Phase 2, with Phase 3 being a complete reopening. The governor is refusing to open everything back up until there are virtually no more cases. We've been in Phase 2 was since June 15. To put it into perspective, Phase 1 from only from June 1 to June 14.
