Happy holidays to all. I hope you can all find a way to spend some time with family or your Jiu jitsu family this year. Even if it’s gotta be a call or video chat don’t isolate yourself, mental health is just as important as physical health. Stay connected and take care of yourselves.

The mental health issue that isolation is causing is being overlooked. Thing the number of depression cases the lockdown causes will be huge. Training partners become family and they are needed for both mental and physical health!

It's a big problem. Here in the UK, a significant chunk of the population haven't been able to see their families at xmas, due to the (I think necessary, if inconvenient) restrictions that came in short notice right before xmas. I myself didn't see my family at xmas this year, for the first time in my life. Not seeing my students has been unfortunate, but not seeing my family at xmas is a big deal.
But yeah, at least in my case, I'm a very very internetty person, so Zoom fills a good bit of the void. To anybody suffering poor mental health, I can highly recommend dropping friends a line to see if they are up for a video chat. My own mental health is quite up and down, so I frequently call my friends for support (they're all awesome, just a shame all my closest friends live in different countries to me ;) ).
